Used to be unable to start the game at all. Including the disco folder to my antivirus list of excludes solved the problem and I was able to play the game for a couple days now. Today however when I try to log in, I crash immediately after the character selection. Any idea what's causing it? Already checked to make sure that the folder is still being excluded by the antivirus, too.

Found it, for some reason my antivirus still put a file into quarantine, had to fish it out of the vault.

What antivirus are you using ? I am asking because I might end up with the same issue one day.

This might be caused that the Antivirus detects DSAce.dll or any file named DSAce associated with Freelancer, as a virus. Adding the file in antivirus exceptions fixes the problem for me.

Although it ended up that my antivirus using 100 % of my CPU so I erased it. AVG Free Antivirus. Used it for some time but had to remove it.
