Freelancer Fatal Error Can't Detect 3D Graphics

Hi guys I want to play Discovery but on launching Freelancer I get the Fatal Error that my Graphics card cannot be found. I have uninstalled and re installed so many time now its not funny. I've tried updating the flconfigdatabase as well.

Here's my specs:

I7-4770K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 1.5gb
Windows 8.1
Freelancer 1.0

I wish I could but it means I can't load the game. Its not the message with the checkbox but one saying it literally can't find it.

Still no luck even after a fresh install of windows.

Try updating your DirectX installation. You might have to download the latest distributable to do it.

Okay, here's a few things I did when I had this problem.


First of all, try running the thing as administrator (even if your account IS the administrator).
Try running it compatibility mode.

Try deleting the Freelancer settings files in your My Documents, My Games folder.

Try calling your PC curse words.

If you have an inbuilt GPU, try specifying it to run with that once.
