now my question, i have read that i need a super duper version of an HDMI cable, and/or 2 connections from my card to the monitor to get 144hz speed

anyone clued in about this let me know?

don't use an hdmi cable, use a displayport cable. The 780ti has a slot for a displayport cable. Check your monitor's description to see if it has one.

There's an explanation of different stuff here, and from the looks of it DisplayPort is "best". It allows more frames per second at a higher resolution.
