Me - Drone

7th Research Facility, Planet Blouis' equatorial region, Orleanis system.

Built during the initial burst of 5th Section's expansion, the facility was a rather large complex of laboratories and living quarters constructed on the bottom of Blouis' ocean. Built around an underwater mountain, the facility was also equipped with a "hangar" for shuttles capable of crossing air-water barrier. The building were mostly silverish-gray domes, with only the recreational area having any windows at all.

As the facility was the main center of Section's AI research, most of those domes were hosts to an extensive state-of-the-art network of processing units, databanks and droid testing areas. Since the launch of "Overwatch" project, the facility has became a very busy place tasked with constant improvement of Section's recon drones' AI, especially since some of the drones showed to fail to even maintain a connection with hostile ships, not mentioning breaching into target's computers.

Professor Chenard was sitting near one of the tables inside a restaurant placed within the recreational area. He was already closoe to 60 years old, nevertheless he held and looked quite well, with the exception of almost unnoticeable mechanical eye. He was wearing a white labcoat made of thick material with a silver V on the left side of his chest. His short hair and beard were already white. Seemingly watching the hangar's entrance, he was browsing the local neural net reviewing the progress on various research projects. After all, he thought, those cybernetic implants aren't that bad. He found it way easier to manage the Section when he had full acces to Section's neural net right inside his own head. Being bussy with checking the reports, he almost missed a shuttle entering the hangar. The ship was streamline and triangular, with a single reflector and two sources of blue light at it's back. Instead of the usual silverish-gray paint, the ship was white, indicating this wasn't a simple supply delivery.

Chenard quickly checked the ship's data in the neural net. He then stood up and headed towards the hangar, where he'd patiently wait for his employee to come out of the shuttle. The hangar was relatively large, with four landing pads placed below four huge sluices. One of the pads was occupied by a grey triangular shuttle. A small waterfall was created as one of the sluices opened and a white shuttle descended on the landing pad beneath. As the ship's landing gear touched the metal surface of the pad, a small conveyor pulled out from shuttle's bottom and connected with a round doors in the middle of the landing pad, allowing it's passangers and crew to exit without getting burned by the hot water.

Chenard was already waiting in a hall at the end of a small corridor. The hall had some plants here and there and few secretaries sitting behind a long counter, with doors on each side. It had a suprisingly homely atmosphere, without any modern or minimalistic ridiculousness, with the exception of two armed guards standing near the doors, each wearing a white-grey battle suit and holding an assault rifle in addition to at least two pistols at their belts.
