The BBC news intro credits play, the familiar music and images playing, before cutting to a woman standing outside Buckingham Palaces front gate

Good afternoon Great Bretonia. I am the BBC's Royal Corespondent, Maria Jones.

I'm here at Buckingham palace today following a couple statements that have been issued so far this week.

First of note is recent awards to Admiral George Richard Hall of Bretonias Armed Forces, and to Mr Andrew Peterson, a manager of trade over at Borderworld Exports. It is reported that the newly appointed Prince awarded his first honours today, an OBE and MBE respectively, to the two gentlemen, a prestigious occasion for all involved. We will try to collect a statement from each before the end of the week, but extend our congratulations to the two none the less.

The next topic we wished to touch upon with this afternoons broadcast is Prince James' plans for the future. Buckingham palace has released a statement saying "Prince James, the Duke of Dundee, is planning a visit to each of the houses in the coming months. As a initial task to settle into his new role, he wishes to increase his own relations, and those of the house, before his rise to the throne. He hopes this will allow for a smoother transition, and increased relations during his reign. It is suspected his first visit will be to Liberty, although we cannot confirm nor deny at this point in the proceedings. We would like to extend our wishes of good luck to the Prince, and are sure he will carry our own well wishes to the other houses."

I think it's quite clear from this that Prince James wishes to hit the ground running, and we are eager to see how this unfolds. We will keep you updated as it comes in.
