POB Affiiation can't be changed

I am trying to change the affiliation of my base to DSE from Freelancer , but I get this error;

Base IFF's are permanent once set and can only be changed by server admins

Thats a boomer. Should I make a request to change its IFF or accept my fate and make Freelancer RP instead?

That depends, I know from experience that they will only change it for a good reason. (I.E. you set it to wrong one by mistake. or you have very good RP behind it.)

Here is the direct rule:

Core One
- Players are not required to role play prior to building a Core 1 base
- Players are not required to role play prior to destroying a Core 1 base
- Name, location and IFF of bases are permanent

For some mind numbingly dumb reason You're not allowed to change POB IFFs.

It's to prevent people from establishing a base under the pretense of a particular IFF, and then changing it, thereby disallowing surrounding factions from having the opportunity to destroy it in it's infancy when it's much easier to displace. Even if the motive of the change is innocent and harmless, the surrounding factions need to have the opportunity to react to the POB upon creation, whether good or bad. Save for exceptional circumstances where server gameplay might be affected, or innocent mistypes at the start, decisions regarding your POB are permanent.

I think at the very least if a POB changes ownership the new owner should be allowed to change the IFF. JM had a really awkward situation where upon obtaining VRs POB, Xenos were docking on it because it had a FL IFF. It was very strange.

What i would do is allow for limited customisation when POBS change ownership. As in... IFF change...
