Backstory: http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=71284

Beneath the surface of an unknown planet, beats the rhythm of an ancient machine. It's true purpose lost to the passing of time. Once, it was feared, once it was rumored that it's ultimate goal was the elimination of all the bastions of mankind. Some suggested once that it had very nearly accomplished it's goals if not for the sacrifice of one unknown retired Lane Hacker.

For years the ruin of the dangerous machine sat dismantled on the surface of whatever Rim planet the final battle occurred over. It's parts scattered across kilometers of the surface, some remaining permanent satellites over the surface of the frozen world, while most were completely vaporized by what little atmosphere existed.

Even though the battle was won in the end, one question remained:

Was the ancient machine called Nemesis ever truly destroyed? Or was it--she--just biding her time. Waiting...planning...sleeping. Knowing that one day, a curious adventurer would discover her remains on the surface of this unknown and frozen world. That this foolish mortal would awaken her from her slumber and unleash a dangerous foe upon the world of Sirius once more.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark.
