I have to say I like it, tho i am still having difficulty finding the ships I would like to try. And the tractor thing threw me for a bit, but I figured it out. Thanks to all that have helped. I appreciate it.

Something I have noticed. I am a cruiser fan and so have mostly cruisers. I bought the Talarca cruiser and was buying weapons.

The cruiser weapons (Corsair cruiser turret for example) does 120 hull damage, refire 8.33, energy usage 8000.

Most lvl 8 fighter turrets do 100-115 hull damage, same refire, energy 30-80.
The only real advantage to the energy hungry cruiser turrets are:
-greater range- 1222 vs 600 or 700
-greater speed- 1200 vs 500-699

If you do the math, all the cruiser turrets have a damage to energy ratio of about 0.4-0.5. Meaning you choice or weapons is player style as they almost all deal the same amount of damage for the same amount of energy over the same amount of time. The only advantage of cruiser specific weapons is the range and particle speed.

Why should I buy an energy draining cruiser turret when I can outfit with lvl 8 fighter turrets and NEVER run out of energy? (I haven't looked at any lvl 9 turrets yet, have to see if I can find some other than Tizonas)

Skyblast turrets I believe are the best 8.33 turrets. They do about 120-130, something around there.

You've answered your question yourself. Two things.

Range and Speed.

The extra speed of those turrets will make them much more deadly to fighters than normal fighter turrets. Even with the reduced damage. The range allows it to be more accurate. And you can start shooting before the fighter can, making them have to dodge a ton to avoid the shots.

The new version looks cool but the old energy problems still persist.
Battleship-wepapons energy regeneration speed is too slow. It takes a lot to regenerate weps power and is really annoying having to stop firing so the energy can recover... Regen speed should be increased at least 2x.
