I mean there are 3 types of shields and weapons and each have a weakness and strength

Quote:Positron
Positron shields emit a field of anti-electrons, which quickly atomise an incoming bolt before it manages to damage the hull. Because of this working principle, positron shields are less effective against bolts of photons or lasers.
More effective against: tachyon, neutron weapons
Less effective against: laser, photon weapons
Graviton
Graviton shields generate a strong, vibrating gravitational field which deflects incoming fire before it manages to impact on the hull. Graviton shields create a magnetic field as a side effect, thus augmenting the power of certain weapons against them, e.g. plasma weapons.
More effective against: photon, laser weapons
Less effective against: plasma, particle weapons
Molecular
Molecular shields attempt to repulse projectiles by manipulating magnetic forces. This type of shields manages to easily dissipate electrically charged projectiles, but suffers additional damage from weapons that are little effected by magnetism.
More effective against: plasma, particle weapons
Less effective against: tachyon, neutron weapons

I don't understand what effect they have on shields ? Does it mean tachyon and neutron weapons do less or no damage on positron shields ?

basically this.

If a weapon is effective against a shield, then the shield damage will actually be 2.0 better. Say like a weapon does 200 damage, and its effective against a shield, it'd to about 2x that.

If its unmarked then it'd be 1.0 (normal) and little effect means the shield damage would only be .75-.50 of its original.

"More effective against" means the weapon does 20% more damage to that shield, "less effective" means it does 20% less damage.

Shizune and onca, your numbers are wrong.

More effective does 110%. Less effective does 75%. Regular does 90%.

Pulse guns do 100% to all types. Codenames do 90% to all types.

So basically it increases and decreases the shield damage taken by guns, that's what I wanted to know
Thank guys
