"Holy sh-- Fourteen thousand?! We will need a few days to round up that much people. I will make a call to Buffalo and warn them we will need more 'workers' than we can turn on here." - Lou pondered a bit, while drinking his whiskey - "Well, in any case, that's a good contract for us. And to move all that people on a reasonable amount of time we will need to use the Roach Coach, of course. Me or Lenny - or both - should scout for you in our freighters, Ted. In any case, we should not have big problems going for Inverness. But Lenny's question is a good one: what do the junkies have for us to bring back, Ted? Do they sell cardie?"

Ted grinned. "Of course, what good would it be to go one way for nothing. Besides cardimine, there is a whole mess of other things available on the trade deck, Nox, synth weed, you name it." Teds grin fell slightly before he continued. "However because of the location and the nearby active war zone supplies are sporadic sometimes. If you can't get anything worth taking back swing by Montezuma in Cortez, the boys down there get quite a lot of Luxury Consumer Goods from Orbital Spa and Cruise. While Niverton doesn't pay to well for it I know Allentown does pay a hair above transport costs for the items, nothing like a good fence right?" Ted's smile returned as another round of drinks arrived.

Niverton Base - Pennsylvania System
Last week of January, 823 A.S.

After a long journey back from Londonberry, Crazy Lou was finally arriving at Niverton. It was a risky trip in that small, unarmed light fighter, but it was a good first test for the new Jackal escort. It proved as fast and agile as advertised.

After landing, Lou left the vessel for Burt to install the new equipment it would need - better shields, extra armor and, of course, guns. The standard Usiel Rogue light fighter gun was very good, but on his way down to The Cave, Lou was considering the possibility of aquiring some codename guns on the black market.

It was still morning, so as usual for that time on a Rogue's base, the place was empty. Ten days passed since the bar was full with the Roach Coach crew, and they received that big request from the Junkers at Inverness. It was going slower than Lou would want, since its not easy to come about such high number of slaves in a short time, but the contract was already half way through. Ted's big liner proved essencial for that. It was a good business to buy part of the shares for the ship, after all.

"Hey Moe! Give me a whiskey, will'ya? Oh, and make one of those Maltese pizzas for me also, I'm starving... The cardamine-free one please!" - Moe served the whiskey, and went back to the kitchen - "I'll wait in my table."

Lou went and sat on his usual chair at the corner table, sipping his drink. After Burt finished prep'ing the new fighter, the next logical step was to test it as scout for the liner. The easy run up to Inverness should be a perfect opportunity.
