"Disturbance in Golden Dragon Casino. Rowdy Libertonian tourists accused of property damages. "Racing" vessels trashed. "

July 19th, Shikoku system.
House Correspondent Yarijima

The private establishment Golden Dragon has seen better days in the past, when wealthy businessmen and celebrities from all corners of Sirius flocked to the picturesque location in the Shikoku system to enjoy some of the best cuisine and dance events known in the Houses. The establishment ran by Hogosha syndicates for more than 20 years has been included in some of the best holiday guides and luxury travel neural network nodes, like Orbital Spa & Cruise Holidays for the Wealthy and Interspace Commerce Exotic Destinations for the non-budget Traveler.

Although service and safety remain in top quality, changes in the clientèle have forced the Hogosha to adopt a more strict reservation system for inbound guests, after disturbances early this week.

The Hogosha administration issued a statement that it would not compensate the damaged ships of the group Archangels Fighter Club, citing extensive debts the Club members have incurred in services and gambling losses while in the casino, as well as property damages to the establishment when security tried to expel them.

According to our sources, members of the AFC entered as clients to the prestigious entertainment venue, after one of them managed to win a lottery of Silver Dragon tickets, purchasing thousands of raffles up to a value that made a small fortune. Silver Dragon tickets are handed out by the Silvereye Dragon syndicate, and are said to be worth a great deal of money in wealthy circles and shady markets.

Three members of this club, with alleged origins from Liberty, made use of the ticket, and arrived on the evening of monday.

According to other esteemed clients of the establishment, the visitors were seen drawing up large amounts of gambling chips, acting rowdy to other clients and staff, and generally shouting towards each other, referring to "all maids have small breats", "bring us the high quality champagne and exotic entertainers (with larger assets)" and "Oppai is justice".

In an interview with manager Uta Maeyoshi, Users of the Silver Dragon tickets are usually afforded some modicum of privacy. However, after several complaints by other clients, Golden Dragon Casino security escorted the AFC members away, which resisted violently to the action.

Upon search of their belongings, security found tampered gambling chips, two personal weapons of unkown maker, blood diamonds (later found to be fakes), and forged identity cards, which led to reveal that one of the clients was in fact a minor under Kusari law.

Hours later, the AFC visitors were released to fellow members of the Club in the vicinity of Deshima, after loud protests by AFC in the Golden Dragon Casino area. The visitor ships were ejected to space severely damaged and retrieved by the club. The Casino administration has referred to unconventional clamping systems installed on the ships that prevented the dock management to evict the offending ships safely.

When we approached AFC for a comment on the situation, our reporters were told to "get off their faces, rice eaters" "Hogosha stole components of our ships" and "we will sue them for racism and disrespectful service".

Before leaving Deshima, one of the Club members was heard uttering in an ashamed voice "that pretty waitress, she had a bulge... in her pants...".

"Society currents are changing in Planet Honshu. Hogosha Association cites concerns about new competition."

July 21st, Honshu system.
House Correspondent Yarijima

The Hogosha Association has released his biannual report on membership and participation. Although its numbers have maintained throughout Kusari, and increased by 2% in New Tokyo system, the report shows an sharp fall of membership in the Honshu system, around 12% compared to last report.

The report mentions the ongoing provincial policies enacted by governor Ryou Hagane, with the backing of Kishiro. Said policies were, according to some sources, enacted to curb Hogosha heavy influence in the working syndicate movements throughout Kusari, and to stimulate independent worker organizations.

It seems that though it became a major factor, it is not the only cause of the decline of the Hogosha in Planet Honshu.

Association representatives have shown that several big groups that operated under the Association have withdrawn from the Hogosha collective, and began to operate independently as worker associations and business syndicates. Although several veterans of the Association have tried to contain this trend, more and more young employees and inhabitants are eschewing attaining membership with the Hogosha and flocking to these new organizations.

Although this transition has not cause any unrest so far in Planet Honshu, the Hogosha Association has expressed concern due to negative attitudes some of these new organizations have shown to their associates, and the possible increase of criminal activity and social discord they might bring, increasing the burden of the Kusari State Police.

So far, all of these groups contacted by the North Star News have refused to be interviewed. Discreet in appearance among the crowds of Planet Honshu dense cities, the Hogosha have however pointed out to the appearance of graffiti and "clan signs" in some of the more industrial sectors, most of them sporting a pair of blood red talons.

It is uncertain how will these developments affect the stability of Kusari, already rife with many sources of chaos.

This is House Reporter Yarijima, signing off.

"Liberty Navy clashes with Liberty Security Forces directives. Tense Standoff at Norfolk Shipyard."
News Article

27 of July, New York System
Foreign Correspondent Fuyudori Adachi

LSF and LN officers dispute over the orders over the vessel LNS-Harmony and its crew

Yesterday, the North Star News correspondent had the chance to witness the most unusual spectacle of law enforcement disharmony, in a house that keeps dishing out unusual stories and less than known events.

Early in the evening, a large gathering of Liberty Navy and LSF capital ships was reported on the vicinity of Norfolk Shipyard over the airwaves. In a house at war, one would expect that this would be the onset of fleet manoeuvres and mobilization to the frontlines.

However, after a few minutes it became apparent that the fleet had gathered for the presence of a single ship the LNS-Harmony (reportedly heavy damaged at the time of our recording). Some miscommunication between branches of the defence forces of Liberty had captains facing each other, throwing insults and accusations, some even threatening more grave actions to either "protect" or "apprehend" whatever made the LNS-Harmony so crucial to this.

Public registers from Liberty Navy identify the Harmony as the flagship of a Battlegroup of the same name, with several years of service. Recent deployments and actions have not been disclosed for public review according to the Wartime Powers Act of Liberty.

[Image: MRQpRUss.png] [Image: Vz8MWxVs.png]

On site, influential people like Eva Adenauer, a known public figure within the high decision circles of LSF, and Navy Admiral Alan Jones were trying to reign in the troops, although each were sporting conflicting orders.
The opposing parties, which had literally formed battle lines facing each other with the Harmony at the centre, finally accepted a compromise to move the Harmony to a "definitely non-existent" Z21, or Zone 21 as some other officers have mentioned as side comments on several occasions. Tensions seemed to cool down for that moment, and the fleet took an escorting formation around the Harmony to bring it to its newfound destination.

This correspondent was unable to find any reports or outcome of this serious dispute of jurisdiction between the LSF and LN. North Star News was unable to get an interview with involved parties or with the Department of Defense, following mentions of "medical leave", "technical difficulties to reach said person", and "State Secrets". We hope to bring you more details of this standoff and the causes behind it in the coming broadcasts.

"Are current Admirals competent enough to lead Kusari Naval Forces?
Kyushu and Nagano fronts are left unnoticed while so called external threat dominate Admiralty decisions.
Our future lies inside Kusari not in Omicrons."

News Article

September 29th, Hokkaido system.
House Correspondent Kisaragi

Discontent within Naval forces after latest Admiralty decision.

Large part of Kusari population alongside KNF pilots discuss latest Ministry of Defense decree regarding the increase of funding of 66th special expeditionary division.

Today we spoke with Itto Kaisa of Naval forces, who asked to remain unknown. We understand his decision since his statements were quite harsh.

Konnichiwa *redacted*-san, would you please comment on the decision of Admiralty to supply additional vessels and even Battleship to 66th Expeditionary division?

Konnichiwa Yayoi-san,

Actually I'm quite shocked, just like majority of the North and West Fleets not counting other pilots within Naval Forces ranks. We are currently fighting on two fronts and we hear that battleship that was almost finished won't join our ranks, however it is sent to Omicrons and should be accompanied by the whole battle-group, are they blind or what?

Dragons are assaulting Nagano system as we speak, Samura colony where our brothers are located is under siege however our admiralty is doing nothing to stop them. Mochizuki-san, our great admiral and commander of the North fleet, refuses to take actions, he cravenly hide on board of Matsumoto looking for external enemies while ignoring internal ones. His paranoia is getting stronger by each day, he disregard those who are loyal to Kusari and still follows bushido code in favor of those who have zero loyalty but agrees with his decisions, cravens just like him.

We are still fighting our brothers in Kyushu due to inability of the Ministry of Defense and Admiralty to parlay and make compromises, brothers that few years ago were fighting for Kusari and it's future are now our deadest enemies even more than Dragons, do you understand how low we fell? Admiralty focuses more efforts on the Kyushu front than on Nagano, since when Dragons stopped to be greatest threat to Kusari? We are not sure how to answer on that question either.

Not only that, but incompetence within our own ranks, while Bretonians were holding Leeds gate it took us quite an effort to break into that system, while cravens and incompetent admirals like Sakamoto let so called rebels to enter Kyushu almost without a fight. What else could it be as not a strategical failure? And what happened after that? Exactly, nothing, he was not demoted or even transferred to another front since he supported Mochizuki and his decisions. And even now he supports him agreeing to send more forces into Omicrons, away from Kusari.

Our future lies inside Kusari, not outside it. They justify such decision by recent so called attack in New Tokyo, and instead of tighten security in our own systems we send whole battlegroup into Omicrons. While the number of active Battleships are not that great in our fleet, they decide to spare new and modern one for such useless actions. How else can we call it as not stupidity?

There is much more that can be told about our admiralty, however it is time for me to start my patrol. In case you need another interview, you know where to find me.

Arigatou *redacted*-san, those were quite shocking statements, we will get back to you again, I promise that.

"Kusari Parliament elections. Fate of the Imperial Household still undecided."
News Article

14 of July, New Tokyo System
House Correspondent Yarijima

Years after the implementation of the Republic of the Kusari, parties still haven't settled on the status of the Emperor.

Democratic Protesters rally near a City Hall in Planet Honshu to plead an end to the conflicts in Kyushu.

Parliamentary elections for the Republic of Kusari, the third time since the implementation of the new system that ousted the late Emperor Kogen, have been scheduled for the end of this month. Several parties have started rallying their supporters and started campaigns everywhere in Kusari. The parties support various and distinct positions on matters like security, foreign affairs, and the corporate influence in the public administration.

However, one hot topic that remains since the inception of the new Republic has been the status of the Emperor, exiled by the leadership of the Revolt of 818A.S. Although the republican regime has been quick to establish new institutions to replace the Council of the Rising Sun which advised the monarch, it has been unable to reach a verdict on the Chrysanthemum Throne issue.

While major proponents of the republican and democratic ideals have battled for the complete extinction of the title, like the once major Democratic Party of Kusari, opposition from traditionalists and moderate conservatives have managed to block initiatives, leaving open the case for a reintegration of the title into a more people led monarchy.

While military loyalists of the late Emperor Jien Kogen, now united under the banner of Imperial Pretender Tetsuya, have launched an insurrection in the western regions of the House, activists of parties like the Kusari Reformation Party have campaigned for a political solution in favor of keeping the Head of State linked to the centuries old imperial household.

Traditional land vehicles used by people association groups, campaigning for the return of the Emperor.

If the conflict within the house borders will press the republican administration to take harsher measures against imperialist views, or give it's supporters a much needed boost in the voter tendency, remains to be seen.

By the end of the month however, the voters will have chosen the ones who will make the decisions.

"Democrats fail to take majority. Voter turnout the lowest on record"
Opinion Article

31st of July 824, New Tokyo System
House Correspondent Yarijima

Parties fail to drum up participation. Military Lobby gains big influence in the political sphere.

Candidate for the Honshu Unity Party with her electors

This summer elections came to a disappointing result, with the voter turnout falling under the 30% mark, the lowest on record so far. The Democratic Party of Kusari, benefiting from the withdrawal of the Kusari Reformation Party, it's longtime rival, managed to recover from his lower share from the past election, but still shy from attaining a majority to rule.

With the decision of the Kusari Reformation Party to not participate on the Republic 3rd elections, pundits were predicting that fringe and radical right parties would gobble up the now disfranchised voters, but the poll results suggest that most have taken into abstention.

Who also benefited from the changes of the political landscape was the Kusari Sunrise Party, who was the first to announce its intent to run, and campaigned on a strong pro-security policy, which resonated with the electorate. Issues like the Kyushu crisis, and the Nagano disturbances have pushed the voters to support a heavier emphasis on defense and policing affairs.

Lastly, newcomer Honshū Unity Party managed to survive its first foray into the political sphere, gathering a quarter of the voters, while the People's Party of Kusari failed to acquire enough votes to retain its Parliament seats.

With the DPK and Sunrise technically tied, it will take a few days for a new cabinet to be formally announced. Political analysts keep the possibility of a unitary government by the 3 parties on the table, while some say that the big partners will try to recruit the HUP to form a coalition government.

Honshu Unity Party announces the success of negotiations on emergency Diet session

Republic of Kusari Parliamentary Session

Nearly one year after the occupation of Kyushu system by the imperial restoration forces, led by former officers of the Imperial Kusari Navy, and at the end of several months of tense negotiations between representatives of the Republic of Kusari and the rebelling forces, it was announced today that the Prime Minister Kato Takaaki and his Royal Highness Tetsuya Kogen had finished meeting aboard Shinjuku station in the New Tokyo system, while under heavy guard from both Imperial and Republican armed forces.

This historical meeting is the culmination of several efforts pursued by political elites in the Republic to bring a close to the Imperial question, after years of hard line rejection of the sovereign status of the Emperor, enshrined in Kusari long historical traditions, by the more pro-democracy cliques in government.

A few hours after negotiations were concluded, the Emperor was escorted by the Imperial forces on the Battleship Nagasaki, a veteran vessel of the Tau conflict and Gallia War of Aggression, and one of the venerable flagships of resisting Imperial Kusari Navy.

Upon arriving in the capital, KSP reported spontaneous gatherings of hundreds of thousands of civilians in several major hubs throughout the planet, in celebration for the end of the strife and the joyous return of the rightful leader of Kusari.

Democratic Party ratings fall, citizens unsure of state of reforms

As the Imperial movement regains its predominance, members of the Democratic Party of Kusari face harsh criticism on the streets. The Party hard stance at resisting the calls for the return of the Emperor under the pretext of renovating Kusari has caused latent discontent among the populace, which was not made manifest in places like New Tokyo and Honshu so vibrantly due to the support of resident KNF and KSP garrisons. Public opinion shows that many believe that reforms can still be achieved under the reign of the Emperor, and that the people can still be heard through the institutions governing under His Majesty benevolence.

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR_5PNnYY3ndHJ0gOPJ1tN...12-VZTRIjc]

The fate of said institutions is also under the magnifying glass, as there is calls for a snap election to reflect the new status quo of Kusari, and calls for the redraft of the Constitution to secure the Emperor and government continuous roles in the fabric of Kusari.

Talks are still ongoing between members of the Parliament and select representatives of the Imperial movement, rushing to create guidelines for the New Consititution to be put in place.

"GMG pulls out of peace negotiations! Kusari Government still committed to peace in sigma-21"
News article

27 of August, 826, New Tokyo System
House Correspondent Yarijima

Negotiations between Rheinland and GMG break down. Truce to remain in place?

GMG representatives express their discontent in the Trilateral meetings

The month long negotiations currently underway (//link) between Gas Miners Guild, the Restored Empire of Kusari and the Federal Republic of Rheinland had an unexpected turn of event on the start of this week, with the sudden withdrawal of the GMG envoys from the negotiations. GMG representatives declined to issue a statement to news channels, but representatives from the Kusari government noted "incompatible ambitions" and "dissatisfaction with the terms proposed on the table" as the main culprits of the GMG refusal to continue negotiations. It is unsure at this point in time if this will also mean an end to the truce declared by the opposing parts and a resume of hostilities.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kusari, Toshinori Kojirou, assured that the government is still fully committed to achieving peace and prosperity in the Sigmas, and assured that negotiations comprising only Kusari and Rheinland continue, with a promise of results to be shown at a already scheduled great meeting on Planet Nevers, in the territory of the Gallic Kingdom.

Political commentators argue that the unexpected push by Rheinland has pressed Kusari into the negotiation tables earlier than anticipated, and that they would enter negotiations in a disadvantaged position. Even though general opinion is that the Kusari Naval Forces still have a large fighting chance to turn the tides of war, sentiment of bureaucrats from the Foreign Ministry is surprisingly positive, in a position where one would expect a humiliating peace deal.

War in Bretonia aggravates instability within the Kingdom of Gallia

Elsewhere, concerning reports are coming out of the settlements of the Kingdom of Gallia, has recent developments on the war in Bretonia had the effect of aggravating discontent and rebellious actions. Several attacks by the organization The Council of Gallia and other dissidents have been reported, although no official statements by either the Gallic Government or opposition representatives have been published until this moment. The Government of Kusari issued a note indicating that Gallia remains committed to preserve security and peace on the common borders, and that amendments to the join Tau Decree have been discussed and are pending implementation (//link).

Whether the government of Gallia will endure long enough to see the changes of the Treaty, is uncertain at this point.

Criminal vandalism causes minor disruptions at Narita Outpost.

Traffic and trade returns to normal after week-long cleaning operations end.

The Narita Port Authority has announced the complete restoration of services aboard the Narita Outpost, following recent disruptions caused by local criminals. Earlier this month, Narita Outpost was the focus of several raids by Kusari criminals, namely Golden Chrysanthemums pirates in gunboat class vessels. Kusari State Police so far has declined to release a public report about the origin and whereabouts of these criminals so close to Narita, citing ongoing investigations.

As for the reasons of the raids, the Narita Port Authority stated that the hijacking of recently arrived cargo awaiting transfer in our of station container to be the most probable reason, although some groups see links between the raids and the recent announcements of the station expansion by the port authority.

State Police investigations within Narita have led to the arrest of two people, with charges of violation of construction safety protocols. Several other people present in the station were taken to the local police center for interrogation on suspicion of bribes and insider trading, but no charges where pressed against so far.

Local members of Hogosha interest groups declined any involvement in any raids or criminal acts in Narita Outpost commited in recent weeks. They have told to our reporters that bounty claims on criminals in the Narita area and the wider New Tokyo system have risen instead.
