Good day

Just something i do not understand about wording in some ID's.

One point states.
Quote:Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports.

And then just below that one it goes.
Quote:Can demand cargo and credits from any ship within their Zone of Influence, and attack them if they do not comply.

Ok now this is the senario that played off ingame with my transport. In O-11 i was being filled by a indie miner when n Red Hessian ship poped up. He demanded tax from miner for mining field and told met to leave field so i engaged cruise. The miner left and he cd me and started shooting me and i ask him to stop. He said it was stupid to run. Anycase i asked him what he wanted and while busy tranfering funds he destroyed me. Ok i was peed off at that moment because of his bad and confusing RP but wat i want to know is, does the id spec not counterdict itself as what i have qouted above?

I just want some clarity as im not clear on what ID states or if he (Hessian) was in the wrong? Feel like an idiot for asking but just want to know for future.

Thanks

Well ID's that state this are basically inrp so entrenched and local to their ZOI they can simply engage any ship that's not their ID. RP wise they may simply be looking to make an attack for their faction or drive away intruders. But the reason its not for transports is because its really to allow initiation of PVP with other non traders in their ZOI at their discetion. Transports fall under the next one;

In this case the ID lets you also pirate anyone in your ZOI, so if you want to engage a transport at all, it must be the result of piracy, as in a demand for something. Keep in mind though even continuing to move after the demand to stop has been sent is enough to get you killed.

In the Hessian's case, perhaps there was some confusion here. Maybe he thought he told you to stop too and when you left he assumed it was an attempt to flee piracy. You'd have to double check your DSAce logs and see exactly what was said and when. If that is on the Hessian ID and you were in a transport for the purposes of trading, they ought to have made a demand for cargo or credits or something specific first. You can always file a violation report if you think there was wrong doing but I'd double check whats on the Hessian ID specifically right now before doing so.

The attack line really means, 'may attack without demand'. So for example he wouldn't need to pirate a RM ship in order to engage it.

The line about transports means they can only attack them off they're pirating and the trader refuses to comply. In this case it sounds like you ran so you died.

Ok so rhe first one is to egage enemy vesels without demands and second is to engage trandports id they do not comply to demands.

@"TheUnforgiven" i have screens of the whole incident and he stated to Dauman miner to pay mining tax and for me to leave. But i am over it it just made me angry that he spoke very confusing and did not demand anything until just before he destroyed me and did not give enought time for funds transfer.

Its water of my back ill get him eventually (in proper rp that is)

Thanks for clarity guys.
