However I'd want you to not play competetive on it. Contact me on Skype if you're interested: torusatoplayer.
Thanks for the offer, but I'm not a fan of using other people accounts for anything

(This is the polite way to say it, btw, just so you know. Given the time you've been a member here, you can't use the excuse that you didn't know any better...;you do & you've decided to do it anyway...not cool, Dude)
Not trying to be disrespectful, but there's no forum rule that says I can't offer steam trades for other steam items. You could argue that it falls under advertising, but the tone of that is more "Hey guys here's this GTA server I play on join us!"
I admit I'm out of the loop, so if the rules have changed on commercialism on the forums, I apologize. The traditional default I'm accustomed to is no material trade on the forums.
If I may ask, if the limit is not restricted to in-game assets any longer, then what is the actual limit?
Oh, c'mon it's a valid question don't just ignore it because it's a whippin' to answer...where's the limit? Just askin' after all...but if it's not against the rules to trade RL merchandise, then why not RL $$$?
I can do that, right? Since we seem to be going by the letter of the law in lieu of the spirit of it, then why not ride this loophole full circle & make some real cash for ourselves?
After all, it really isn't against the rules when we only concentrate on the trees instead of the forest.

I don't make the rules, so I dunno how to answer that
I don't make the rules ether, I never made one even once...but I can answer it: Material Gain In The Community Is Not Allowed
It's simply too slippery a slope to allow. We don't need a rule for everything. What we need is for people to understand what's best for the community over the individual & conduct themselves accordingly.
I understand that there are those that need the iron fisted rule of law in order to define their behavior within the realm of communal acceptability, but those people are a minority compared to the number of those who would simply take advantage of the loophole.
That sort of thing should be done outside the community beyond the Staph's jurisdiction if it's that big a deal to justify trying to do in the 1st place.
I don't understand the downside to me posting a thread offering a trade for steam games. I'd understand if there were posts flowing out the cracks, but there isn't
If you were attempting to trade in-game merchandise for in game returns that would be acceptable...but when you try to trade RL merchandise, you are engaging in RL commercialization for personal gain & that ain't cool.
It's one thing to say: hey, "Steam's having a sale. Go check it out."
This ain't that. This has too much stink of RL on it
As I tried to say before, if the rules have changed since I've been away & this sort of thing is allowed now, then so be it, but I'll bet that the only thing that may have actually changed is the tolerance of enforcement, resulting in an overall slide of understanding of the concept.
