◦ Impeding terrorist, pirate organizations working within Bretonia.

History

With the ever growing binding of Armed Forces capacities, the duties of Intelligence and Undercover work had fallen behind. It was deemed less important than actual overt operations against Bretonia's foes, and said that an Intelligence branch within the Armed Forces was unneeded. Though as the times progressed, so did the wars. It had turned from facing your enemy head on in a charge, to where knowing everything about them before the battle was key. It was finally realized that an independent Intelligence Agency was direly needed within Bretonia, so it was decreed to put into motion the creation of the Bretonian Intelligence Service.

The service, BIS for short, would take on the duties of domestic and foreign intelligence gathering and defense, as well as undercover investigations inside domestically grown organizations which have been deemed terrorists or are at risk of such to gather evidence. The BIS was to be split into three branches, the first being the overt military reaction force, known as the SIS. The second and third would be the less overt and covert branches known as the MI5 and MI6. These three, while different branches, work in unison to create one well-oiled and running machine from the first contact by MI6 to the last strike dealt by the SIS. The duties of the BIS were ever evolving and increasing with the recent war with Kusari and the current war with Gallia, the service has been as busy as ever to gather every last bit of intelligence and information they can to finally gain the upper hand on their foe and drive the Gallics from the Bretonian Homeland.

With Director McKinley's leadership, Having Vice Director Winter by his side, the BIS has managed to flourish into a respected and well known Intelligence Faction within Sirius, their agents spread far and wide, gathering Intel and plotting against all who oppose Bretonia. However, as the Gallian front progressed, the Intelligence Service had fallen into disuse once more. The Special Interstellar Service was fully occupied with assisting the Bretonian Armed Forces in the desperate war effort in Leeds. Funding was cut and refocused to keeping the Gauls at bay. MI5 and MI6 dwindled in size, giving the question of merging the two remaining branches of the organization.

The Bretonian Intelligence Service saw very little use 822 A.S. due to the aggressive pushing by the Kingdom of Gallia requiring all the manpower, funding and resources that Bretonia had available. With the advent of 823 A.S., it was clear that the lack of an intelligence gathering organization had been causing major issues in the war effort and on nomadic activity. With nomad structures appearing within Bretonian space, discovered infectees doubling in quantity and the war becoming ever more expansive and wide, the service found new reasons of activity and funding.

Faction structure

Military Intelligence Section 5 (MI5)

MI5 is the domestic version of the Bretonian Intelligence Service. This section works in information gathering within terrorist organizations such as the Gaians, viewing and impeding pirate activity and keeping an eye out for Nomad activity within Bretonia. MI5 has merged with MI7, and is now responsible for propaganda and counter-propaganda in and out of Bretonia.

One of the section’s main priorities is counter-intelligence of potential Gallic spy cells, as well as extracting information from them and Gallic invaders.

With the advent of Nomad structures appearing in Newcastle and New London, the section closely monitors any suspicious activity and analyzing information together with scientists.

MI5 is closely tied to MI6 and the currently dormant S.I.S., constantly sharing information and assisting each other in tasks that require co-operation.

MI5 often does non-covert operations, the section encourages use of Bretonian ships and weaponry, as well as having access to the rare Adapted technology under special conditions.

Military Intelligence Section 6 (MI6)

MI6 is the external intelligence branch of the Bretonian Intelligence Service. This section is dedicated to infiltrating foreign organizations, information gathering in Houses such as the Kingdom of Gallia and the Republic of Kusari and observing corporate and unlawful activity and development.

The section’s current main priority is finding ways to sabotage the Gallic war supply lines.

MI6 is also dedicated to fighting the alien antagonists, the Nomads. MI6 handles the destruction of Nomad units and retrieval of Artifacts, Nomad Technology and researching Nomad installations.

MI6 is closely tied to MI5 and the currently dormant S.I.S., constantly sharing information and assisting each other in tasks that require co-operation.

The section is divided into branches, each specialized in a specific activity outside of Bretonia:

Foreign Assets (FA): This division of MI6 handles the security and protection of all Bretonian assets and entities outside of Bretonian space, including embassies, ambassadors and nationalized corporate assets.

Counter Terrorism (CT): This division of MI6 handles the containment, investigation and elimination of terrorist groups targeting Bretonia and her assets outside of Bretonian Space.

Corporate Security and Intelligence (CSI): This division of MI6 handles the investigation, spectating and monitoring of foreign corporations.

Nomad Operations (NO): This division of MI6 handles the security, intelligence, research and extermination of Nomad units. artifacts, structures and information.

Special Interstellar Service (SIS):

While MI5 and MI6 specialize in gathering information, their militaristic incompetence was to be compensated with a powerful forces maintained by the Armed Forces Admiralty Board, The Special Interstellar Service. They strike harder and faster than any other force in Bretonia. The best of the best. These were specially selected by the Admiralty board to form an invincible force to exploit weakness of other powers and services.

The Special Interstellar Service is the backbone of the Bretonia Intelligence Service. They refer back to S.I.S. in difficult matters regarding Militaristic power.

The S.I.S. is considered secret and those who are aware of it’s existence, or knows about its personnel, information or headquarters outside of the organization are to be silenced.

The S.I.S. is currently in the Leeds Frontier, and will be unavailable for spaceborne missions elsewhere until they are recalled.

While I'm quite happy with BIS reformed and whatever. But I'd really appreciate it if you didn't copy/paste the faction lore than I wrote and try to be somewhat creative and rewrite in your own eyes.

Hell, you didn't even change the director's name.
