I am currently facing an issue with Freelancer logging chat files. I know that the file is named DSAce.log, which is located in the EXE file of Discovery. However, I have both the "Chat log" and "Append logs" switches in the ON position. Despite this, I have attempted numerous times to test and make sure that the log is working, however, I noticed that my DSAce.log file was competely gone. With that, I tried to flip the switches off, close out the program, flip the switches back on, and launch Freelancer and post a few things in-game in the chat. I exited the client, checked the EXE folder, and noticed that DSAce.log was still nowhere to be found. I decided to try and manually create the file to see if THAT would work. Unfortunately, that did not do the trick, either. I have done literally every combination of things I could think of to do, with no functioning chat log that I could fine.

S.O.S.! I would appreciate any help regarding this, as I am going to need the chat log to help a friend build up their character's background story. I could technically screen shot everything and transcribe it all to a text document, but that would take me quite a long time.

Is there something simple I'm missing, or is this a bigger issue?

I believe the file is located in another location, its in your documents folder in a file called Freelancer

In DSLauncher > Parameters there's a "Restore DSAce" button, try that.

Thanks for the replies so far, everyone! I've tried to restore DSAce - the launcher said that everything was good and that nothing was there to be restored.

My location for Freelancer is D:\Games\Freelancer\Discovery Freelancer 4.88. So I've followed the proper path, but DSAce.log isn't here. I went so far as to search the entirety of the game folder and sub-folders, but the search only turned up DSAce.dll.

I'm wondering what else it could be..

Okay, yeah - I feel like a fool now. It's under My Documents\My Games\Freelancer. Thanks, everyone!
