Gaian Terrorists Attack Vespucci Bound Yacht

The burgeoning new relationship between leisure giant Orbital Spa and Cruise and Liberty revolutionaries the Hellfire Legion faced considerable strain this week as the culmination of their efforts, a refurbished luxury yacht called the Aruba, was attacked on route to the Commonwealth system of Vespucci.

The attack, which took place on the 4th of June, occured near the Manchester jumpgate within the disputed Magellan system where Royalist Forces and Liberty Navy are presently engaged in a bitter stalemate. Three OSC ships, including the Aruba, were ambushed upon arrival in the system by a flight of six Gaian vessels who demanded control of the yacht in addition to the company ceasing all planetary operations. A distress signal was transmitted to a nearby wing of Hellfire Legion fighters who were awaiting the arrival of the Aruba and her guard.

Upon detection of Legion forces, the Gaian terrorists moved to engage the OSC vessels causing severe damage to the Aruba's cruise engines. A vicious brawl then ensued with OSC and Hellfire fighters succeeding in drawing fire away from the crippled yacht which limped towards the Kansas jumphole on impulse.

Several Hellfire and OSC ships were destroyed during the engagement allowing three Gaian ships to break off and pursue the Aruba throughout the Wendell Ice Field causing significant damage. The Gaian's continued to assault the yacht throughout the Ice Field, bringing the Aruba to the verge of destruction until escaping through to the Kansas system.

The pursuing fighters attempted to follow the Aruba into the system, however after deciding the extent of their attack served a clear message and the threat of scrambled Hellfire reinforcements, the Gaians treated.
A number of OSC staff aboard the yacht sustained injuries though no fatalities have been reported, the most severely injured have been transported to Guadalajara where they are said to be stable and responding well to treatment.
