Ok Moderator Mode off, there are many factions that require folks mate, Trade-Factions in particular always could use another person if it be for security detail or for hauling/mining. Gateway is a good place to 'dip your toe in the water' as it were.

They're also not just another trade faction but act of the paramilitary of what is essentially a minihouse due to their monopolization on He3, so that opens up a few more possibilities than having your character be just another transport captain.
