General Information
When operations in the Omicrons were starting to require more and more logistics the National Council was facing a problem. Ruiz couldn't handle the heavier transport traffic that was partly caused by bretonian ships moving into Maltese space now. And Gallicia was never intended as an outpost.
So Atlantis Manufacturing was tasked with the construction of a storage facility.
In October 823 construction finally began and after weeks of construction it has been brought to completion.
Now Catania Station is going to be a major storage outpost for Malta and will serve internal trade as much as trade with Malta's allies.
Amenities
Catania Station doesn't need to hide from other Maltese Installations, being modern and outfitted with state of the art technologies. With one third of the station maintaing a constant Malta alike atmosphere, every visitors wellbeing is secured, as long as Maltese law is upheld. Security on the station consists partly of Maltese Navy Marines as well as Atlantis Security personnel. Rarely the CID is visiting the base and certain cargo department's contents aren't even known to the Atlantis staffed station administration.
