MESSAGE DECRYPTING... |||||||||||||||||||||||||| 100%

Dear Council of National Unity and Liberation,

My name is Don Draper and I represent an order called The Frumentarii which operates deep into the Independent Miners' Guild leadership. We've accomplished many wonders along decades of hard work. I'm not a man to brag about our success, but I'm going to tell you one thing, we are damn serious about what we do and we will gladly give our lives to accomplish the missions we are given.

We have remained silent for a few years now, going 'public' even to our most trusted allies isn't something that we truly wanted, but nothing can go on forever. By sending you this not only I put myself and my people at risk, but the whole IMG can be in danger if this message falls into the wrong hands.

The Guild's name has been trashed for too long and I'm here to put a stop to it. I have talked with my colleagues and trough an agreement we came to the conclusion that The Council will be most intrigued in what we have to say. The Gallic menace is here and has been like this for years. Bretonia and Liberty alone won't last much longer but we can make a difference. For far too long the Guild bowed and served the Gallics. We the Frumentarii want to say : "No more".

We know you are out there, fighting for your lives and at the same time for ours. Numerous other factions fight the Gauls either publicly or quietly, but alone they will make no difference. We can see the Gauls pouring through the gates everyday, reinforcing their lines as they advance deeper into Bretonia. The Frumentarii want to make an alliance with you and others as well. Only together we can fight off the Gallic invasion. Along side you we crave to be the voice of Sirius, to band together numerous other people under one cause, one idea. We will do our best to gather those factions and organize them as best as we can so we can finally make a difference.

The Taus are a very important place for the Gauls, putting pressure here would mean giving the people on the first front some time to catch their breath and counter attack. Our order has developed multiple plans for different scenarios and we'd like to share some with you if you're interested in this alliance.

Do contact me on this and only this channel as the Guild will serve no information about us publicly. In case you doubt us I will do my very best to convince The Council of the benefits of such an alliance. Our plans are ready and I can assure we won't come empty handed into this fight. We not only care about us but the people of Sirius as well, and we are sure that they can be banded to fight together against the Gallic Royal Navy fleets when the time is ripe.

Council of National Unity and Liberation, we would feel honored if you decide to reply and I would gladly answer any questions you can throw at us.

Yours sincerely,

Don Draper

Bonsoir, Monsieur Draper,

Je suis Général en Chef Pierre LaFlamme Du Conseil, et I have to say you did not misplace your trust in us. Having been in a close, amicable partnership with the Guild itself for several years now, c'est just naturel to ally with the Frumentarii as well. Your secret will not leave the confidential exchange of information between the two of us without your consent.

So far you are correct about your words intriguing us, but I'd also prefer specifics before moving forward. Your words suggest you are about to fight back the Crown's oppression, yet as far as I know staying neutral in the conflicts between Sirius et Gallia was a key aspect of your survival in the Tau Region. Is this indeed the case?

You also imply Council is just one of many factions you intend to contact, or already contacted with the same proposal, to form some sort of alliance against the Gallic Royal Navy. Who else are we to expect to fight alongside us in this union? We are also interested in hearing about what exact goals et plans you have, et how the Council could be aiding you in their completion.

We are avaiting your response, Monsieur Draper.

Sincèrement,
Général Pierre LaFlamme Du Conseil
Général en Chef Du Conseil

I'm very glad you replied General,

We understand your concerns and I will do my best to put those to rest, thus managing to make this alliance more fruitful. In return we only hope you'll be just as open to us.

I will start with the first thing: The Guild decided to keep their neutrality in the war at first because we thought we could keep our independence. It's why we are here so far away from the other houses. But no matter what strings we pulled or how the Guild decided to bow their head to the Crown, we were always pushed, bullied or outright shot at by the stationary ships that should have 'protected' us. People grew impatient and the Frumentarii were called upon once again. We know what would happen if this fails, but we have to take all the chances. We fear that our days are being numbered even without plotting against the Crown.

When I'm talking about other allies I'm meaning everyone that has a personal thing against the Gallic Royal Navy forces and anyone else who is in the mood to make some easy cash, though we don't trust all mercenaries for now at least. To get into more details we have had -some- diplomatic relations with the Crayterian Republic, the Coalition and the Blood Dragons. We hope none of those bring any mistrust from you. The Frumentarii are also currently talking with others groups but nothing is certain at this moment. We also ask of you to converge as many allies as possible for the hopefully next successful raids. You know best who to trust and what to tell them.

As for what we have planned the list could go on and on. From desperate suicidal plans to long and elaborate ones that could take up years which we sadly do not have. Bretonia cannot last forever even with Liberty's support. A small and obvious plan we made was Guerrilla warfare. We can see the long line of Oil shipments coming from the heart of Gallia and going all the way to the front lines. They are stretching themselves the more they advance, and less troops are being able to defend the long flanks. We know the Oil is essential for them, and those shipments need to go down. We have heard about different groups attacking them, but they are on a too small of a scale or completely unorganized to do significant damage.

There's also the subject for fighting for the independence of the Tau 23 system, our home system which is a very important piece into the Crown's flanks. We know this system as well as the Outcasts, and this is probably the reason we haven't been wiped out yet. Anything above fighter level has trouble flying in those dense fields unless you know which paths to take.

At this early stage in the Alliance the Guild cannot make a full declaration of war, so we choose to stay in the shadows but not for long. Until then we can provide intel on troops stationed in the Taus systems as well as haulers and any other movement. If the Frumentarii or the Guild can assist you in any way we would do it gladly. Any other ideas of how we should 'approach' the Crown would be welcomed.

Yours sincerely,

Don Draper

Bonjour, Monsieur Draper,

Excuse-moi for the late response, recent days kept me busy quite well. Your reasons are understandable, there is always a point in time for every oppressed group or individual to say "No more" et turn on their oppressors, apparently the IMG are no exception, just as how the Mouvement de Liberation Gaulois weren't either. The failure of the Crown to realise this will be their demise.

While I can't imagine the SCRA coming this far from the Omegas to fight the GRN, The Council does not mind them joining the conflict on our side. On the other hand we have recently made contact with the Blood Dragons et has been working together with the Crayter Republic for a while now, I can tell we have so far had pleasant experiences with both groups.

Note however, that there has recently been a split within the Republic, an amalgamation of a smaller battlegroup, a logistics division et a few other organizations, collectively calling themselves the Armed Republic of Crayter, has decided to distance themselves from the currently official government. While they seemingly have their differences between themselves, it appears the eagerness of both to combat the GRN remained unchanged.

If there are any news regarding other groups joining this cooperation, I'd like to ask you to notify me. In the meanwhile I'll shout out a call to arms to the Gallic Underworld et see who's of Maquis, Brigands et other lowlifes left to mobilise against the Royal Forces.

Guerilla warfare is what we've been trying to apply to the Tau Region against the GRN in the past few years, sadly with varying success. It's difficult to carry out such operations as long as their fortifications in Tau-23 et Tau-31 are intact. I also wouldn't advise such until the GRN's grip of both Java Station et Holman Outpost is removed, else the Frumentarii compromising themselves would also put those bases in great danger. Freeing at least one of them, on the other hand, would already open up a decent spot for cargo interception, once that happens The Council would greatly appreciate loot (at least fuel, namely Oil et Promethene) redirection into our own depots if possible.

Until the Frumentarii decides to go overt about your operations et oppose the Gallic Crown as openly as the rest of us, The Council wishes no more than covert intelligence, logistics et financial support from the Guild, just how it used to be in the past years. I however advise you to time your move on GRN wisely, currently from all of us the IMG has the most to lose by pissing of the royals. Stay safe out there, mes amis.

Sincèrement,
Général Pierre LaFlamme Du Conseil
