So I've had this character concept rolling around in my head for awhile. While not necessarily a mad scientist...ok, something of a mad scientist. The sort of oddball traveling scientist unconcerned with ANY political affiliation or such.

In other words, if there's a gravitational anomaly in Outcast space, he's there. What, the Outcasts might blow him up? Why would they do that? This is SCIENCE!

My questions.

1) Ship
2) ID
3) IFF

Those are the obvious ones.

Less obvious.

What sort've RP would this guy have? As is, I see exploring as the major one, followed shortly by going random places and investigating things only he seems able to detect.

But honestly, any commentary on this idea would be just peaches and cream.

Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace.

There is a Researcher ID in the new proposal would might be of use.

Ship-wise, perhaps something like the Spatial or Kusari Explorer? You know, one made for exploration work.

Freelancer ID for now, Researcher or Freelancer in 4.85. I say "or Freelancer" because this is the sort of thing that practically demands a Spatial or Kusari Explorer IMO, and the Researcher can't use them. I'm hoping that gets changed. But there's always the Armored Transport anyway...

IFF: Freelancer, Zoner, Junker

Ships:
Freelancer: Kusari Explorer, Spatial, Armored Transport
Researcher: Armored Transport

Alrighty, then. Now for the second, less easily answered part of my question.

What sort of RP would this character partake?

1) Investigatin archeological remains of Hispania
-You might find something noone else has

2) Researching why Alpha has so many jump holes
-Is Time-Space Cont. falling apart?
-Does it have to do anythig with the gravitational anomalies you discovered?
-Is it natural, or engeneered by outcast tech?

3) Finding the truth about cardamine
-Is there some secret agenda?
-Youre not satisfied with the common oppinion, you may find a way to improve the drug
(as a "brainstorm stimulans")

4) Investigating the "Outcast Ancestral Graveyard" and why nomads suposebly protect it
-you may find out th nomads secret agenda and try to warn the outcasts of some grave danger
-you may find that the graveyard is somehow connected with the gravitational anomaly.

as a researcher you have infinite RP possibilities. You can easly write your own SiFi novel.

Good luck

wassup

Hey, why only Outcasts. Don't make me blow up the poor doctor, and I swear I'll do it if he gets close to Graveyard or to "reasearching" cardamine.

Aaaaanyways, reasearching "abnormalities" in Outcast guard system (and yeah, there are abnormalities with big A) is very, very bad idea if you wanna to see the next sunrise.

So I belive you should be more around things like the "little-sun" next to Ithaca station, or Borderworlds, excluding the pure-unlawfull systems. I recomend using especially Freeports, and research stations (Hard guess, eh) If you are brave, you can try to make Order to let you be around, and you can "research" things such as the Nomad gate and nomad systems and the pearl... don't forget the "Nomad city" in Newcastle.

Um, that "gravitational anomaly" is in omicron 85, and thats the outcast guard system... so yes, they will blow you up if you arent an outcast =P

Likewise, if you come poking your head around in Order space without authorization, we'll probably scatter your ship to the stars too. It's a security issue, science or not.
