Does anyone have experience in big battles? Who commanded in major clashes and won? If there are such, then you can share your advice? Just today's battle near the planet Leeds made me turn here for advice.

I explain why the experience is zero: during the game I usually beat 1: 1 or 2: 2. Seldom it is possible to fight 5: 5. Today it was, it seems, 10:10. In general, you will understand me.

1. Get as many people as possible on teamspeak or discord. Communication is key in organizing stuff.
2. Pick a snub and a cap leader. The cap leader should preferrably be a bomber who can safely monitor the fight and call targets as well as retreat to his caps if shot.
3. If it's a huge fight it might be better to split into two comms groups, one for fighters and the other for caps.
4. The squadron leader should be on TS, if not he should be the one with the highest authority and knowledge. Even if he makes a wrong call, it's better to listen to him than 5 different people each giving their own suggestions.

For snubs the best targets are bigger ships. You should always prioritize SHFs, heavy bombers and so on, and sometimes even gunboats if there's a lot of snubs (5+). If they're hugging caps, it's best to switch to the next biggest thing and dry it slowly if the caps are putting too much pressure on you. Try to lure the fighters away from caps.

For caps the best target is the closest ship, then the biggest one. If you have a battleship at 2k and one at 2.5k, you'll mostly want to shoot the closer one unless for example the one at 2.5k is taking heavy damage and it's better if everyone piles on him. If there's a heavy and a light bs next to one another, focus the heavy battleship.

The most important thing is obviously skill. No communication can replace knowledge what to do when, how to position yourself and execute a teamfight properly, but it helps greatly. If you can just keep those newbie Valors next to you in a Phalanx formation and tell them not to change direction unless ordered, it already increases the chances of winning greatly rather than each Valor chasing its own target.

That really much depends on what type of ships you command. Usually, you have one commander for capitals who calls targets and one commander for snubs to call targets. That's pretty much all about it. Bigger snub-fights are usually nothing else than both sides piling on one enemy while that one enemy is dodging as long as possible, shieldrunning, basehugging, caphugging and such. Of course one side will be pretty pissed about the hugging, but to be honest, when three snubs are behind you, you want to survive as long as possible to buy time for your side. If the enemy actually allows duels, that is pretty cool then, but you'll rarely have that in big battles.

Capitals work a bit differently, really depending on their classes. Gunboats either go in to de-cluster the snubs or take out each other. Cruisers are more multi-role, as they have the means to kill all shiptypes rather easily. They can take on battleship, cruisers, gunboats and can be used to hug as even without cruiser razors, the pulse-light mortar combination is enough to get rid of any snub instantly. If cruisers aren't lead by a cruiser commander, they are either on their own and help where they can or are part of the battleship group, where they focus the called target like any other warship of the fleet. It's pretty much that.

What a good commander does is making sure the fights are balanced, at all cost. Meaning when there is a snub-fight of 3 vs 3, you don't command a cruiser or gunboat to go in. Winning is fun for one side, a good fight is fun for both sides.

Use mumble over TS or Discord as you can set priority speakers for wing and fleet commanders
