Christoph Lansen v. Liberty Police, Inc.

"Please all rise, the court is now in session. Honorable judge Alexander Cooper Allen presiding."

The Manhattan metropolitan police officer as well as everybody else in the room looked towards the back door as the judge, followed by a clerk entered the room. Only three other people were present, the prosecutor Jordan Rowall, the defense attorney Magdalene Wolf and the suspect - a suspended Recruit Officer of the Liberty Police Inc. Christoph Lansen.

"Thank you, you may be seated," the judge spoke. "For the sake of completeness, we are reviewing the case number 1-2864-824-4, Christoph Lansen versus the Liberty Police Incorporated. The prosecution made a motion to let the proceedings not be public, as the case pertains to matters of national security. The court accepted the motion." Judge Allen looked at the people gathered. "Are all parties present?"

Prosecutor Rowall stood up. "Yes, Your Honor. My name is Jordan Rowall, attorney prosecutor, acting on behalf of the corporate interests of Liberty Police Incorporated."

The prosecutor sat down, as the judge turned towards the other end of the room, where the defense sat.

Christoph already knew what was coming now, all the stuff that he saw in the TV kinda prepared him for this, at least a little bit. He was really nervous, since he had no clue what will await him. He tried to stay as cool as he could, not trying to show any emotions, otherwise they could maybe youse it against him.

Defense Lawyer Wolf stood up. "Yes, yes... Defense Lawyer Wolf, defending Mr. Lansen. I think we are ready."

The defense Lawyer looks towards Christoph and waits for his answer.

"Yes, I'm ready."

Judge Cooper nodded. "Very well. May the prosecution read the charge and give his opening statements, please."

Rowall stood up yet again. "Thank you, Your Honor." He turned towards Lansen, his tone turned more menacing. "Christoph Lansen, on the twentieth day of October, 824 A.S. you attempted to release a set of unlawfully obtained cryptographic keys to a foreign intelligence agency. The mentioned keys could be used to decrypt private communication between the Liberty Police and other private and government entities. Under those circumstances, you are hereby charged with military and corporate espionage. How do you plead?"
