Good evening, Martin. It's me, Daniels.
I happen to have a rather interesting job for you. At approximately 1619 Hours today, one of my patrols around Dagger stumbled upon an old Coalition wreck in the Omega 55 system. Some kind of an warship, decently sized. I'm guessing the vessel might have some interesting stuff left on it. Our initial readings show it's been dead for a long time. We've detected
it only now, because it has kept a very wide orbit around the sun. Like a comet of some sorts. Anyhow, I want one salvage and two scientific teams on the spot within the next solar day. Naturally, we'll provide all the security you could possible need and them some more, just in case.
Daniels, out.
~Yours Truly, Jack Daniels, Guildkeeper of the Core and STILL the most hated person in the Omicrons.
It has been a while since we had the time to chat - sadly, it is as it was, not yet at hand, as duty comes first, a cruel mistress. Nevertheless, you must come aboard the new Sagittarius someday, she is as magnificent on the inside as she is on the outside. You will be pleased with the alterations I have had made...
As for the business at hand. I have dispatched the teams you requisitioned to investigate the curious finding. Today at 0253 sharp expedition reported back with successful boarding. I shall not bore you with the detailed logs, so cutting it short, the remains of the Coalition craft turned out to be little more then a dead husk, burned, stripped and vented. Well, it is either that or a most revolutionary approach by design. The wreck was nevertheless not as disappointing as the first glacne upon it would suggest.
The APM salvage crews have retrieved seven moderately damaged battleship class turrets, which can be refurbished and reused effectively with little effort at the maintenance hangars of Dagger outpost without vacating the system. The ship data core had also been extracted for the sake of procedure, though I find it unlikely to read any comprehensive data off it. If by any stroke of luck I should be proven wrong, it can only benefit our intel.
Said extracted ordnance should be ready for your inspection by now, as is the assigned maintenance team.
