Cannot connect... gr

Posting for a member here.

He has vista and all the bla bla, until recently he was able to play for months without a single issue.

Now, everytimes he connect, he gets a msg saying that the connection with the server couldn't be established. That the problem may be due to internet bla bla, you've all seen this message once.

It does it right after he clicks to join the server... not even a millisecond after.


I reinstalled everything, restarted the modem, followed tutorials, etc but it is still not working...GRRR

oh, he is located in Canada, he lives nearby (I can play without an issue here, and we are in the same neighborhood) and is on a cable connection (I am on ADSL)..

AVG?

I had the same problem, uninstalled AVG and now it works, same seems to be the case for several others here. Because of a recent update apparently.

so AVG is no good now? the heck are we supposed to use?

I got the same problem... though... if you have the paticence... you could try to spam your way in, just repedetly try to connect after the "message" comes on, it should work about the.... say... 25-50th time.

OH, if it my help, get someone to contact AVG and see if they can fix this problem

AVG you say? ummm, I will check that with him tonight, he'S working atm...

Avira is a good alternative to AVG. It is free and does a decent job

hey king, mind keeping us posted on the AVG thing? I really don't want to scrap a pretty good program... I had perfect connection up untill recently... It's disheartening...

Has anyone updated their AVG recently ? Hands up please ... Apparently something needs to be looked at,
as it is now blocking your Freelancer. Lets start there for all of you please.
Not going to go round all the threads.
