-Story from Warriors of Aesir to the people of the Discovery Gaming Community-

Although victories over the native Kusari, the victory had come at tremendous cost. Not only was much of the Aesir Fleet destroyed. But their own Emperor, the heart soul and center of their Universe was all but dead. The Flagship of the Empire, the ANS Vigilant, was destroyed, and the Houses were ready to rip each others throats out. Wary of the challenges before him, the Emperor's Hand, acting leader of the Empire Skaldi Kin-Slayer, was not to put out.

For deep with in the New Asgard Shipyards a new hope was being built, a light in the darkness that seemed to surround the Empire of WA. For under the direct super vision of the Kin-Slayer, the ANS Vigilant II was born.

Crafted more from the sweet and toil of Skaldi and his loyal engineers than any metal, this beast and new flagship of WA would proudly stand against the darkness. Upon this ship, the torch of the Aesir was placed, and with it the hopes and the dreams of those seeking to maintain the Empire.

Wylf the Skald:
How our dreams manifest,
into solid objects best,
and into battle we shall wrest,
for our fallen Empire's crest.

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: Yeah..what he said. Anyways, how long before we are up an running Eyvithr?

Lead-Engineer Eyvithr: Sir, all systems are a go, just a few more checks and system upgrades and she'll be space-worthy.

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: Excellent, Wylf gather your gear, we are going on a test drive.

The Lord and Skald gathered a skeleton screw to man the untested vessel and had them make for space. The elaborate command deck had two long orange WA Sun banners strewn downwards, with a large-throne chair placed in between it. For just as in the ANS Vigilant I, this ship also would serve as the mobile throne of the Empire. Just right and under the throne was a smaller chair that was surrounded by displays connected to every major ship system, where Lord-Skaldi would sit. On the left of the throne is a far humbler seat, where Wylf would sit. With the Emperor gone, the main throne goes vacant.

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: hmm everything seems to be working out very well. These Kusari parts handle excellently.

Wylf the Skald:
What good is a sword if it does not bite,
Does this ship have what it takes to fight?
Is her soul one of victory and glory?
Or is this the extent of her story?

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: We'll see soon enough little buddy, I am reading an incoming Corsair raiding fleet, looks like they think we're an easy target. They've yet to see us..

With that Skaldi promptly yelled into the ship wide intercom: All Hands, prepare for battle! I repeat, Battle stations! By the bristling beard of Odin we shall make them bleed, and given the ravens of space a feast!

The Kin-Slayer then turned his attention towards helm: Pilots, quickly maneuver us into the shadow of that asteroid. Com-officers get a code red sub-space com back to New Asgard ASAP, then observe radio silence!

The ANS Vigilant II carefully moves behind the large asteroid, narrowly avoiding detection by the raiders. All systems are powered down save for life support and external sensors as she waits for the Raiders to pass.

The Raiders, knowing of the weakness of the Kusari after the recent war head straight towards New Asgard prime, believing in easy pickings. As they come within range of the system, the ANS Vigilant II max burns all its engines to suddenly find itself right behind the raiding the fleet. Before the fleet can react to the giant blip on their radar, the ANS Vigilant unleashes all guns on them, destroying one ship and forcing the rest to scuttle.

Weapons Officer: Direct hit sir! We got one of them! The rest are scuttling reorganize my lord, it will be a hard fight...we are severely outnumbered..

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: Just keep them off balance a little longer.

Weapons Officer: Aye Milord.

The battle heats up as the titanic ANS Vigilant II fights for its very right to exist, it's baptism by fire. The Corsairs are skilled pilots, severely damaging many of the Vigilant II's ship systems. Fires break out on multiple decks as the Vigilant II's guns and engines are slowly disabled.

Weapons Officer: Sir! The main and secondary guns are out! Our Engines are shot! Our remaining guns are primarily focusing on defensive actions, our shields are failing and our armor is wearing thin. I..don't know what to do!

Lord Skaldi the Kin-Slayer: Focus these guns..here..here and here, on their lead fighter. And then have these ones work on his Wingman. We just need to keep them busy a little longer...

The intense battle continued on for a little longer before the Vigilant II was finally disabled. The massive ship stood their in the silent space, with a look of serenity across its bow as it waited for the killing stroke by its victorious enemies.

A killing stroke...that would never come to pass. For just as the corsairs were about to finalize their victory, a vast fleet of Kusari ships from New Asgard rose above the horizon and swooped down upon them. Before the Corsairs could even register the seriousness of the situation the majority of them were ripped to shreds by the shots of the Kusari Fleet.

A lone Corsair fighter escapes into the darkness of space, the safety of distance. It flees burning all its fuel, to return to its base and to alert to its contemporaries of the dire news: The Kusari Navy, is back.

His wolf-of-Wounds cleaved true,
as with it the winds of power flew,
leaving nothing but death at his feet,
an untimely end he forced his kin to meet.

Spider Retro shot down an incoming squad of bounty hunters in Gamma, maunevering his Light Cruiser, or as he liked to call it "Super Gunboat" The engaging Bounty Gunboats didn't know what they were up against, as the Talarca Cruiser destroyed it with high tech new Battle Razors, killing them in seconds. As he killed the last escorting fighter, a beep made it known that there was someone on the line to talk to him. Retro checked and found that it was his fellow Corsairs.

"Admiral Spider Retro, listening" he said, as he recognised the face of the Corsair who was contacting him. One of the leaders of the corsairs operating in Kusari, who was known to contribute alot, to help the war of Kusari and Bretonia become a reality.

"Well, Admiral of the Gamma Fleet, the Kusari Navy is back, and it's causing is quite some trouble. We need a fleet of capital ships or fighters to assist us in this."

"There doesn't seem much to be going on here right now, but I think my fleet is going to be there in some time."
