Firstly some information.

Windows Vista Home Premium - Service Pack 1 - 32bit version
Bullguard anti-virus/firewall etc (Properly configured to play online etc)
Wireless connection to a router through which the internet is connected to.

Put simply, I can set up a server but when it is created, cannot join it.
I have had the same issues (And more, the server not even starting sometimes) on my main computer which uses Windows Vista 64bit, no service pack but have been able to get it set up and use it on occasion.

Anyway, the server address comes up as a string of letters and numbers, not an internet IP address it would seem but more of a network or computer orientated address. Not sure if this has any effect on it but it's something I noticed.

Bullguard is properly configured as I said, it works brilliantly when it comes to games and playing online. It works much like Zonealarm in it's use.

In the end, all ports are properly done and windows firewall has been turned off. Not sure what exactly is wrong with it all though, any ideas?

Okay, it seems to be something to do with that string of letters and numbers you mentioned, heh. They are hexadecimal strings for the IPv6 protocol. It's still your IP address, just in hexadecimal format. But of course IPv6 it's more than that, and the underlying differences between IPv6 and the older IPv4 may be the problem here.

Anyway.. I installed the IPv6 protocol on XP to see what happened, and alas, now I can't connect to my LAN FLServer. Thing is, in XP you can just uninstall it, with Vista, IPv6 is integrated into the network stack.

Of course, it could be something completely different, but this theory is at least something to consider. Try running FL and/or FLServer in compatibility mode also try running FL and/or FLServer with Administrator rights, it may help.

EDIT: I'm almost 100% sure that IPv6 is your problem. Please read this: http://www.discoverygc.com/forums/index....topic=9310

Jamez, I love you:D

All fixed thanks to that little nugget of information. Tried the same with the main computer before but it didn't work, something tells me it's something else fiddling around on that but not to worry, I use this laptop now mostly anyway.

So yes, thank you very much:)

i've got a similar problem

The server show up, but when i try to connect to it, it immediately tells me the connection has failed. usually there is a small delay on my computer before it tells me this or connects.
-i've checked my firewall to see if it was blocking it
-i've tried waiting to see if it was maintainence or a full server
-i've deactivated and reactivated the mod in FLMM
none of these seem to have worked.s
suggestions?
