I know, there is no such thing actually called "similiar factions" since thats why they are seperate factions in the first place, but for factions that don't get enough attention can't such a thing be done? This would give them bigger zoi and more activity imo. Few examples I think out loud;

GRN-GRP
KNF-KSP
RM-RFP
FA-LWB(R.I.P.)
Maquis-Brigands
Hellfire-Xenos( I might be terribly wrong about this but why not)
Cryer-Synth Foods( what if they had monopoly in both branches?)

DSE-Ageira

I dunno, discuss.

How would it give more activity? It would not increase the number of available people playing the game. It adds nothing to the game. Almost all factions you listed share the same ZOI already.

It's already happened in the past with some. To be honest, I don't really think it achieves much, other than reducing roleplay (and gameplay) options.

It would help people to do roleplay of both factions at the same time and would gather seperate players together. I.e. If one person is interested in synth foods rp and another cryer rp, they can join up together and do it both together.
For police factions that nobody logs, BPA and LPI excluded, current military players can have access to tflagsnet(or however its called) and go on patrols etc and can have more stuff to do with their characters.

Yes it decreases the diversity of possible RP, but increases player concentration thus more serious factions imo.

All you have to do to give those factions a bigger zoi and more activity is give them a bigger zoi and un-nerf their IDs for more engagement and demand permissions. And giving their enemies the same also gives them more activity, because for many factions having activity depends on having active enemies.

All IDs should be given the largest still reasonable/logical ZOI and the maximum still reasonable/logical engagement+demand permissions.

Players should not choose their IDs because it's the only ID that lets them do something and go to a certain place. They should be able to choose their ID because they like the roleplay and lore of said faction. Role play is more than just permissions and restrictions.

Good luck trying to get anyone here to rethink anything they were told 8 years ago though. We're a community that was social-engineered for a decade to not think, rethink, or question anything we were once told by "authority figures".

Player concentration is more about having them in the same place than having them use thesame ID. And giving them a larger ID and more permissions to do stuff makes it easier for players to flock to active locations.
