Just do yourself a favor: On your first play through, dont dick around with 'creative' mode or 'easy' mode, go for survival at least (maybe not hardcore) and play with the lights off. I've played every 'scary' game out there, and none of them made me jump or panic like subnautica did. It pulls you into a false sense of security with bright tropical colors and shallow water, and then bites your head off with primal monstrosities.
