It irks me when I see bombers with paralyzers...

Why would you need one to take out caps? You don't. It's purely for fighter-killing. Remove a bomber's ability to mount missiles and a great part of the bomber balance problem is solved.

You'd actually be surprised what spamming Paralyzers does to a recently regenerated Transport/Gunboat shield.

But yes, the primary purpose is anti-fighter for those things. Rob a fighter of his shield and he's suddenly not charging at the big slow bomber anymore. Buys you time at the very least, scores you some free regens if he decides to bull ahead.

I see a flaw in how you started this thread.

Because one bomber cannot get a shield and half a hull from a Snac in one pass, mabye 3 passes?

which takes a lot longer than 2 secs... im sure your exaggerating. If not then it wasn't only a bomber.

All i have to say is, just wait for 4.85.
and im sure you will see a lot less bugged ships, never mind a lot less bombers.

The SNAC is ridiculously overpowered, it does more than double (almost triple) the damage of the light mortar which is the most damaging weapon the cruiser can carry. I mean it is really really absurd to me that with 39k of energy you can do 132k of damage in a bomber, whereas in my cruiser it takes 500k of energy to do just 46k damage. i mean whats to stop me mounting SNACs on all 8 of my cruiser weapon slots and destroying anything with 1 shot to the shield and hull?? in RP, nothing only game mechanics prevents me doing this. Basically cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships should do more damage than what is basically a heavy fighter with reduced agility. Its unrealistic!

i agree it is overpowered....well not so much over powered as it is unbalanced. i have fought countless battles against pairs of bomber in my Destroyer. i wanted to test it out before i made a comment on it.

now the SNAC would be perfectly in balance and should rightly scare capship pilots...but only if the capship could scare the fighter in an equal amount...currently the fighter is king of the castle. being able to destroy any vessel in the game with relative ease and without much fear of reprisal....aside from a GB loaded down with missile turrets. big capships though stand no chance, i have in the past taken down a cloud of fighters but i see it as a fluke and it's never happened again....now that i think about it i believe it was 4.83

big capships are too slow, when a bomber comes into range of the capship, the fight is over. the capship can't escape. a train disruptor coupled with a SNAC equals "win button"

one anomaly i've found is that a fighter/bombers shield goes down with ease but once it is gone it's like the ship reduces in size by a factor of 3. i can never seem to hit the hull of these ship even when they are flying directly toward me and are firmly within my crosshairs. if it weren't for the shield regenerating so i could easily take it away again...i'd think i was not hitting them at all.

i know the reasoning behind the overpowered SNAC...i was here before it's damage was changed. the capship issue was a bit much back then.

my load out is a pre-4.84 one and i should probably mess about with it. but i'm holding onto my precious funds for 4.85......which from what i hear these issues have been addressed, i can only cross my fingers and hope that the battle field will become a bit more leveled.
