Battlegroup Cambridge

Introduction

During the Liberty Rheinland war The Bretonian Government saw fit to gift the Republic of Liberty with its own "Victoria" class Battleship. Officially handed over to the Navy, it was used to focus on the criminal elements of Liberty during the war due to Bretonia not wanting to restart its war with Rheinland. The Cambridge became a feared ship to the criminal underworld, and its first ever Naval Captain Richard Parker was equally feared and was known not to have any mercy to those who threatened the Republic of Liberty. Over the years the Cambridge has seen many Captains come and go and after countless engagements its hard not to notice the visible scars upon looking at such an old warship. Its current Captain is Colonel Freeman Faux and he was first appointed in 823 A.S. It was at that point the Republic of Liberty officially made a Battlegroup out of the Cambridge due to the Gallic war and the growing problem in Bering. The Republic saw fit to assign one Liberty Assault Battlecruiser, Three Defiant Gunboats, and a total of Thirteen mixed Avengers and Upholders. For away missions where supply lines are thin there one Bison, and two Rhinos are also assigned to it for additional supplies and support.

Time Line

810 A.S.
The Cambridge was gifted to the Republic of Liberty and put to immediate service in the Liberty Navy combating criminal elements. RIchard Parker is promoted to Captain and assigned to the ship.

812 A.S.
After a long fought battle against Liberty Rogues, Lane Hackers, and Outcasts in Colorado the Cambridge was critically damaged and towed to [Redacted] Shipyard for repairs.

813 A.S.
The Cambridge was put back into service, and assigned to watch the New York System.

816 A.S.
The Xenos mount an assault on the Cambridge where Richard Parker Captain of the Cambridge dies due to a hull breach in the Bridge.

817 A.S.
Norfolk releases the Cambridge back into service where then Executive Officer Price is promoted to Captain.

821 A.S.
Direct conflict with the Hellfire Legion caused the Cambridge's power core to overload and the ship was forced to retreat while Liberty Navy First Fleet took control of the fight.

823 A.S.
A power core limiter was installed on the Cambridge and it was put on Orbital duties around Manhattan, Colonel Freeman Faux relieves Captain Price.

826 A.S.- Present
The Liberty Security Force enters Bering and starts their operation against Harmony and The Unioners, Liberty Navy takes the Cambridge off Orbital duties and sends it to aid the LSF. The Cambridge is made into its own Battlegroup.
