I haven’t had much trouble with them personally. If you’re savvy you can get by a hazard with a minimum of 200 batterries. The reduced consumption rate helps.

Meg’s right. Transports avoid interaction enough without being invisible for long periods of time.

That would be 1000 cargo units. which is fine for a 5 ker but that would leave a 3k transport with 2k cargo hold.

Works for some.

Half the time if you’re trading on a med or light transport you’ve already come to peace with a 1-2k reduction. Whats another k to be practically uncatchable?

funny works fine on a serenity.. lots of room left and can cloak for quite a while.. has something changed in the last week ??

Large transports have larger cargo hold for batteries, but essentially are fat and weak targets.
Lesser transports have less space for batteries, but are more dodgy and strong.

I think it's okay as it is now.

The MK III cloak is actually a wicked cloak. Yes, you do need to balance your own cargo vs. fuel situation. It was always like that though, if we still used mox you'd still get more time per more cargo used up to a max.

But these are not so you can cloak trade easily everywhere. You can use them to smuggle small amounts of valuable cargo, and you can always leave half your fuel empty for extra space. They're also great for piracy if you use them on the right ship.

If you want to use one for sneaking by places, or escape, they're great, but it would end trading if everyone could mount this cloak on their 3600 k'er and cloak for whole trips while hauling cargo. But if you sacrifice some cargo, you get your upper edge.

But I wouldn't mind it if they added a new division for the Medium Cloaks, which consume just like small ones. If they consumed at 2/s instead of 4, they'd be more useful again. Seems fair, small cloak burns at 4/s, medium at 2/s, large at 1/s.

Many times I use one of my ships with one, I'll only ever take enough batteries for an escape, so I can use the cargo for other things. 300 batteries is 5 minutes, with only 20s charge time. Thats perfect for getting by a hostile jumpgate or lane across a hostile system. Remember batteries are on every base.

A serenity has 3,600 cargo, the change im suggesting wouldn't effect that ship.

Med transports aren't practically uncatchable and that would be a 2k cargo hold ship, you'd have to do hours of trading before you even made the ships value back. There's no doubt that most of the trader base is using 5kers and I don't think a balanced down cloak for smaller ships is too much to ask, especially seeing as there's already balanced cloaks for combat classes.

Maximum time is 16 minutes 40 seconds, not sure where the 16:20 comes from.

1000 seconds = 16 minutes 40 seconds.
1000 - 20 (charge time) = 980 seconds.
980 seconds = 16 minutes 20 seconds.
