Seems like my computer decided to leave me... yes... my video card started to take crack and drugs in the last week.
Seriously, my videocard is working fine without drivers; I can browse, etc. like I do atm. HOWEVER, when I install a driver for it (a supported driver, that was running fine for the last 2+ months) everything gets messed up. The screen keeps turning black every 5-10 seconds, then the image come back. After a few minutes, the computer auto-reboot without any warning. Also, when the problem is occurring, the image is kinda messed up as well: imagine you are holding a needle, and you start scratching your "image" vertically and horizontally here and there.
And also, when I was playing Rainbox Six vegas 2, my image got nutz as well (before all the problems started to appear). Like everything in the game turned purple, I couldn't decipher anything in the image anymore beside players hands that were black (not supposed to).
dont use latest drivers...with time driver support for old cards goes bad...u dont need to update drivers every time there is a new version, especially for a card that is several years old. Programers simply dont optimize new drivers for older cards.
Also, your card is probably working with old or some generic windows driver (and not without them) right now. So uninstall everything, and use older version of drivers...
If you have installed the driver's then uninstalled them again. Somtimes the drivers dont get removed correctly. And quite often the only way ive found to fix it is a full re-install of windows.
I have had that issue before. The card will work fine till you load drivers. Ussually it means the GPU got fried. If you tried all those different drivers and it didn't work.... could be the case. I would try the card in a different PC just to make sure. If it is still fubar'd then it is most likely done.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
Uninstall the drivers, shut down the PC. Take out the card and replace it with another one(if you have one, and if it doesn't have integrated graphics on the mobo)
If it does have integrated, boot up the machine. Go to Device Manager and click View>Show Hidden Devices.
Make sure that the video card is gone, and then shut down.
Plug in the video card again, making VERY sure it's well seated. Make sure it has plenty of dead space around the card, and boot up.
Let Windows find the driver.
Pray it works.
