Thanks Paddy. Some of our shared adventures were truly fun. Sorry I won't be around any more, You were often the only thing that kept me in DiscoveryGC.

Cheers!
Just got home from work and I see this. Gutted! Totally gutted!
I have got to say I am not surprised you are leaving, Dad, but your leaving is a big blow.

Tell him to get in touch. It doesn't have to be this way.

It's better he leaves on a pleasant note than self-titled samaritans trying to make him stay when he's getting nothing but displeasure out of the experience. It's a video game, let him move on and instead just wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do next rather than trying to snake in a reason to make him subservient to your own interests. Let him go, and see for himself whether leaving is truly what he wants.

And on that note goodbye and good luck. I wish you well and sincerely hope that Alte stops trying to advertise his own interests in the same place as people trying to work out their frustrations. If I can offer any potentially useful advice, I'd suggest that if you do come back that you just fly around as a freelancer or indie and don't bother with major investments. The game is more fun when it's just you experiencing the world through a character, rather than trying to tie yourself down with virtual investments and the frustrations associated with their loss.

So your solution is to let a good roleplayer go because he is disgruntled while most of us here are trying to get him to stay for the benefit of the community as a whole. We want to attract them not push them out

It's selfish for you to try and hold him here for "community benefit", of the posts I've seen it's just been people saying farewell or simply wishing him the best and waiting for his potential return to the mod. And then we have you, who under the garb of caring for his experience seek to give him creative outlet but of course one of your own devices. You don't resolve a man's issues by telling him a bunch of nice things and asking him to come try things your way. You give him moral support when he needs it and let him sort the core issue out himself. That way he comes back with not only a clear head but a stronger resolve that he, all by himself can handle problematic situations.

Sometimes the best thing to do is take some time off and evaluate things from the outside. The less people trying to influence his thoughts and feelings, the better.

Good luck out there dude.
There's a lot of the community still that believe in the best of the ever shrinking player base. It'll be a shame to see you go. I would recommend giving a second chance in another area of the game, but if you're set on leaving, you've made your mind up.
Again, I fully recommend looking into other areas of the mod, Omicrons, Omegas, Taus, Sigmas and other houses and see what can become of ideas there.

Regardless of your choice, good luck.

Yes, I'm sure the fact that I expressed concern over what seemed like potentially aggressive behaviour was such a despicable thing for me to do. The way I addressed him politely and expressed a desire to see him move past potential grievance was deplorable and my ultimate departure from the discussion without further attempts to bring up the conversation must have truly proved bothersome. I must instead force upon people demands of eight billion credits and claim that the experience was being mutually enjoyed.

Do I want him to leave? No. Should he leave if he wants to? Yes. Why? Physics. Hold something back and it'll just erupt with more intensity when finally let go and unbound by restraint. I don't want him to reach that stage of frustration with Discovery. I know enough of how things work to know that I don't want him to be a part of a vicious cycle.
