Ferrol Starbase is a Montevideo-class modular installation administrated by the Maltese Department of State. Located in orbit of Palawan within the Malacca Ring, the station is intended to serve as both an administrative center for the Republic's operations in Tau-44, as well as to provide the system with suitable fresh-grown produce in lieu of local insufficiencies.

OPERATIONS

Ferrol Starbase was chartered in 834 A.S. as an addition to the Republic's growing civilian sector following the Great Dying. Staffed primarily by refugees brought to Borneo to relieve the overcrowding on Planet Yuma, the station is currently home to an ever-growing hydroponics apparatus providing food to the system's many residents, and tanked oxygen to travelers looking to restock.

Following the station's full completion, Ferrol is expected to serve as a primary node for the Republic's operations in Tau-44, as a mooring yard for the Armed Forces' assets, and as a temporary holding post for Lipari hopefuls.

Ferrol Starbase is currently under construction, necessitating a currently import-heavy economy, largely consisting of construction materials and human needs essentials.
