The_Burninator has been sanctioned owing to a report posted on the 07/03/2009 for:
Quote:5.6 If a player engages cruise engine or docks during a PvP fight, this player is considered fleeing. The fleeing player must leave and may not re-enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours.
Consequences: Fined all credits and guns
Notes: Cruising to catch up with a target fleeing a combat on thrusters? Just how many more capships do we have to strip to get this message through? DO NOT DO IT!
The link is broken on the 'Admin Link to Report' but I assume this report was from a confrontation in Rheinland between a few RM, myself, and two Wilde.
If that is the case, then this sanction is unfair, for two reasons.
1) I'm of the understanding that you aren't supposed to file a report against someone unless you've already spoken with the offender privately and informed them that what they're doing is wrong, and they continue to do it. I received no such messages from either of those Wilde.
And even if I did,
2) The Wilde gunboat is just as guilty as I am on this point. During the fight, the gunboat activated cruise engines on several occasions, to get out of range of me and then stopped to re-engage my RM allies. I engaged cruise to chase him away and make sure he left. At that point he engaged cruise engines, left the fight by losing me in an asteroid field, then a short time later came back into the fight when I caught back up with the Wilde bomber. If you go back and look at the chat logs you'll see the other RM I was with commented that the gunboat did in fact come back after fleeing.
So, my apologies for apparently breaking this rule, and for not reporting what the gunboat did, because I figured we both fudged the rules a bit so there was no sense in making a big deal out of it.
But.. I have talked to other admins and they say Traders are exempt to this rule... and what about pirates who engage cruise engines to pursue a trader they've attacked? I didn't think engaging cruise with the intent of pursuing someone counted as 'fleeing'.
So please either give me my stuff back or apply the same sanction to the gunboat.
