Cannot connect to server

Right, sooo...I've reinstalled everything, its all fresh. Got the workaround running, saw the server.. it has 197 people on, before that there were 194. So, its not because its full. My ping is 110, and every time I try to connect, it tells me that the connection has failed, probably an intermittent problem, etc. We've all seen that message. It doesn't seem to be intermittent, is the thing. It seems persistent. Any idea whats up with that?

The server is full. My advice? Patience. Have a think about how ID's will affect you. Count the number of threads that pop up.

See...it wasn't full. (or, was it??) it looked, to me, like it had only, say...197, 194, and 196 people on....none of those are full..
they're almost half empty..

Course, Athenian was right. The uppity...nevermind.

Lag. I've had the same issues.

Just keep hitting connect over and over. Get one of those water birds to click the mouse button. Bring a book.

I'm not meaning to hijack, but I'm also not meaning to start a new thread.

I have the same problem, except no matter what it shuts me out instantly! I've tried it three different times. The server just crashed and came back up, I can't even connect with 10 people on... I've disabled anti virus crap to see, but it didn't work...

I've seen some very weird things concerning connecting to server.

On Monday I loaded and installed the new mod and there was 25-30 people online at that time of the day. I still could not connect. So I tried changing accounts and it did not help. I gave up.

Later in the evening there was 190-198 people online and I kept hitting the connect and finally got it.

I guess anywhere over 190 the people connecting and disconnecting is big so it's a lottery if your request to connect happens to get through. So if it's 190> just keep trying.


But the other one with 26-30 and still giving me the "connecting takes so long that..." is an entirely in the realm of mystery. And for me it happened from time to time in 4.84 too, so it's nothing new. The very strange thing was that the player count always is 25-30 people when it happens. I've never seen it happen to me if there are 70-90 people online.

my pc does the same thing only every time i run freelancer.... usually takes about 15 seconds for it to actually bother attempting to connect when i press the connect button and the more people on the harder and more i have to keep closing it of and retrying...

When I have the time to connect during the peak hours, I simply click five separate times, then go find somthing else to do for 10 min & then try again 5 times, & I repeat that pattern till I finally get on...& when I luck out & it takes 1/2 an hour instead of a full hour, I quietly say 'woohoo' to myself & get down to getting down with it all.
