So i was trying to get a lan server up with my room mate today and everytime either of us try to host it, it shows the IP adress in the server list as grabbled junk. when trying to connect it just sits there for several seconds before kicking one of us back out.

i have tried this with the disco mod, that didnt work so i tried it with a fresh install. nothing seems to work.

We are currently connected to the net through a wireless router if that has anything to do with it...

What's happening is that Freelancer is showing your IP6 address, instead of the IP4. Try clicking refresh, or use the link above to disable it.

Open network connections, disable IP6.
Fixed...

sorry but no, this does not disable the IP6 tunneling in Vista whihc causes the problem. See this thread for a link to the solution:
