"Swords Into Ploughshares" is Back?

NEW LONDON - The "Swords Into Ploughshares" motion, which was struck down nearly four months ago, was addressed again in yesterday's session of the Commons. The motion was intended to stimulate the return of Bretonia's wartime economy to peacetime and to abolish the War Cabinet, but it was rejected after a tight vote due to concerns involving the Gallic Royal Enclave and the security of Exeter. The Commons met after the expansion of the Carlisle Trials passed the Lords, to agree on its budget and debate the prospects of colonisation. Issues arose when, in a daring speech, MP Robert Bailey from the Social Democratic Federation stated that if Carlisle is colonised, Exeter and Harris will be unnecessary. He said that "they [the Royalists] used these as arguments against Swords Into Ploughshares, so if we replace Harris and Exeter with Carlisle, its opposition will literally have no ground to stand on." Bailey further indicated, and this was the most daring part of his speech, that he was "not disinclined to consider selling Harris to a Kusari corporation, because it could solve two problems with one stroke: the Tau Crisis and the economic crisis". Speeches like this were historically booed by the Royalists in unison before they could address their core point, but the cracks that have formed in the Royalist Party, which we have written about before, now became visible, as the Royalists threw themselves into a heated debate among each other. Derogatory terms were used and it was recorded that Bailey was called a "traitor" by an unknown Royalist. The session was thus adjourned and postponed for tomorrow. Later it was noticed that MP Harriet Green (Port Jackson, PEX-PJ), who was one of the main opponents of SiP in the original poll and the only Federalist to vote against it, said nothing during the entire ordeal. She refused to comment on the matters, so it remains to be seen if this means anything. Prime Minister James Hacker issued a statement that "Bretonia will not cede an inch of its territory" and that it would be "a distasteful insult to the blood, sweat and tears that all of us have spent to secure it". He added that "there is no article of the Constitution which says that the Commons should deal with foreign policy, so this yet another one of Bailey's gaffes is not only preposterous but also unconstitutional." Bailey argued that "this was a budget matter, and budget matters are unfortunately the only ones over which the Constitution allows the Commons any influence at all." I have a great deal of respect for the SDF and its policies. But Mister Bailey should first see that Carlisle's detrimental hurdles to colonization are laid to rest first, before touting it as a complete solution, otherwise Harris is the best substitute. As for Prime Minister Hacker, I don't believe he understands how insulting it is for a soldier to die for land that isn't even being used properly. Nottingham is a monument to incompetence at civil administration and Exeter is still void of the people that it was assigned to house.

Is no one going to talk about how LIBERTY almost beat us for the zero-G cup?!? The fielding in games 2 and 3 was outright DISGRACEFUL. It was practically like we didn't even HAVE a silly mid up for half the match! I was honestly scared we were going to lose the ashes for the first time since the Nomad war. Thank GOD Gabriel pulled that hyper-googly to retire Khan in game 5 before he could put another string of 6's on us! We've been resting on our laurels for too long, and with Archer AND Stokes stepping down from the National team next year, I pray we have someone in the wings ready to fill in. Catching for Gabriel is NOT easy, Stokes has some VERY big gloves to fill.
