BMS is a syndicate based on Borneo, Tau-44 with joint commercial and security interests of former IMG, Colonial civilians and military personnel. Believing the best way to survive and prosper in Taus is a unification of the Independent Miners Guild and the Colonial Republic with minimal political interference, the Syndicate focuses on resource extraction, shipbuilding, industry and transportation of goods. BMS sees slavery and Cardamine as threats to a stable Tau region and is engaged in conflicts with Outcasts and their allies.

The Borneo Mining Syndicate is a conglomerate of IMG personnel and Crayter Republic citizens and military personnel brought together during the tragedy of Operation Orange Hammer. The Syndicate wrestles for influence in the Borderworlds, especially Tau 44, while at the same time pushing into uncharted territory in the quest for undiscovered resources. It focuses on mining and shipbuilding outside of the House systems, and conducts business with factions that further the Syndicate's agenda, rather than holding allegiance only to lawful factions and Houses.

This Independent Corporate ID is used by members of the Borneo Mining Syndicate, who:

- Can attack any ship to protect allies.
- Can demand ores outside of House Space.
- Cannot dock Cruisers or Battleships inside of House Space, except on IMG bases.
- Cannot use ships with more than 4300 cargo space.

Within Zone of Influence (Taus, systems bordering Taus, systems containing IMG bases):

- Can attack ships considered hostile to BMS
