Cleveland Station was built in the Pennsylvania system by Bristol Constructions & Manufacturing as a forward mining depot, sorting facility and as a shuttle station for its mining operations on Planet Hallam. The considerable station was built with assistance of ALG and DSE and is Bristol Construction's largest construction project to date. As a typical Bristol installation they function on an open port status with only known enemies exempt.
With construction plannings reaching back as far as May 827, the station's location and purpose was planned well in advance. With goals to exploit Planet Hallam and resources within the independent worlds, Cleveland had to be planned as a large space station which as a project was slightly beyond Bristol Construction's capabilities considering the intended timeframe of construction. With partnerships with ALG and DSE and pre built parts from Bristol Depot, Cleveland was finished on time in February 828.
In early 835, Cleveland would play host to Project Homestead, a program where those at Planet Erie, Philadelphia Station, and Bethlehem Station could apply for the use of a Hegemon-class Miner. After interviews at Cleveland, they would take control of the vessel and serve a period under Bristol C&M employ, in part to pay off the costs of the vessel itself, before then having the option to continue service with Bristol. While the program garnered some praise from local groups as an economic boon, the increased traffic lead to a number of altercations between Zoner vessels and LPI, which has led to an ongoing legal battle. A number of these Hegemons can still be seen working out of Cleveland Station, however.
Planetary Mining
Cleveland operates various small planetary personnel and cargo shuttles to construct and maintain a planetside mining site, Camp Lakewood. Some mined ore is refined on-site, testing for quality and the overall likelihood of economic feasibility, though the majority is shipped to other installations and planetary operations heavier transports at the station.
The station does house a number of heavier miners for exploitation of the Ralston field and the Heavy Water there, refining the entirety of material on-site for open sale as Deuterium to any customers. Prices for Heavy Water at Cleveland are notably higher than any other station in Pennsylvania, with Deuterium cheaper than any other vender.
Salvaging & Repairs
Various salvage in Pennsylvania
With Bristol's years of experience in salvaging, sorting and recycling on small scales, mostly for self-use, the various abandoned mining operations in the system were a welcome target to expand their salvage and repairs business. Vessels found in the Driftwood and Meadville fields are often seen in Bristol service, either operating in the Ralston for Heavy Water or being sold to third-party buyers throughout the system at a discount. More heavily damaged craft are often utilized as raw material for the Camp Lakewood operations on Hallam.
The station provides repairs to its own ships, allies and customers.
Surveying
While the surveying operations in Pennsylvania did expose large amounts of Heavy Water in the Ralston Ice Field, which Bristol has been keen to exploit to fund further operations in system, the company continues to operate a surveying team from Cleveland in the interests of looking further into the former systems of the Insurgency for economic possibilities. These surveys rarely stray from the major planetary bodies and larger, more easily accessed fields however, and have encountered limited success due to the heavy patrols of hostile craft in both Kansas and Vespucci.
Issues
While the Liberty Navy has largely secured Pennsylvania for House interests, the annexation of Erie has not solved all issues within the system. Militant raids against Harrisburg continue, despite the proximity of Battleship Alma, and Cleveland comes under irregular attack from the most extreme of that Zoner organization. Despite this, the station has been a boon to the local economy, and holds the support of several groups within Pennsylvania.

Hello,
I was just wondering why this station insists on firing at me every time I drive past in my Carrier? It's becoming a bit of a frustration having to take fire whilst trying to navigate the lanes. Any insight you can offer me as to the cause of this would be much appreciated.
When this happens I am driving a Liberty Carrier under a Liberty Navy ID with the name HMAS Bribie Island.
Hopefully this can be rectified shortly.
After 2 weeks and no reply, I'm just going to assume that something shooting at me deep inside LIberty space, is deliberately hostile. I shall return fire accordingly whilst in transit.
