Hey-
I was just thinking of the Hogosha Guard ID- Which I do use for my characters as it seems fitting of our roleplay. We are supposedly an elite section of the Hogosha faction. Now upon further inspection I realised that the guard ID was not allowed to claim bounties on ship. This does seem reasonable considering most bounties are outside of Kusari and wouldn't really pose any interests, but there are bounty boards posted by some of our allies (mainly the samura bounty board) that would make sense with the ID.
I was just wondering the reasoning behind the differance in the normal ID and the guard ID. Not that I have a problem with it as not many bounties come up that relate to our faction- Just if I actually want to start claiming bounties on Roleplay viable bounty boards, I ought to use the normal ID for now. Is there a possibility of this being changed? Say if I provide a compelling reason? Or is this a general ruling in guard ID's as they mostly allow the use of capital ships and most bounties try to deter cap ships being used in claiming the life of one person?

Just looking into it.. The Farmer Alliance guard ID restricts bounties being collected as well.. Why do no guard ID's let bounty contracts be fulfilled? Both our factions cannot use more than a gunboat so the advent of capital ships being used to collect bounties is nullified.. I don't even think most of our members use Gunboats, and even then most bounties restrict you from using a vessel that is on par with the person you are going to bounty.. I can see the conflict occurring by claiming foreign bounties, but IN-RP bounties to use, like the samura bounty shouldn't be denied to us, because of our use of the Guard-ID.
What other Guard ID's impose this same restriction?

So far, all the Guard IDs I've seen cannot claim bounties
I'll have to double check the BHG one...cause if that one says no bounties....
unfortunetly the new ID cards are very restrictive, and sometimes unnessisary (Red Hessians can land on IC bases? ID says so...)
The reasoning is probably that the 'Guards' are doing their duty, fighting off the baddies to protect their brothers, rather than going out and killing them because they can
Guards are ment to be elite pilots.... and if someone wants someone else dead, you should send the best you have after them (Guards/ aces)... that's my reasoning
but again... Mod creators probably want the Guard IDs to be for special defense ships only
EDIT: Actually an interesting idea i just had... Ace ID, basically a guard ID, but allows bounties, but the owner can only use fighters (no bombers, gunships, cruisers, frieghters, etc)
