The Gallic Union
Chamber of the Seigneurs

Seigneurs,

Le Maréchal has heard your arguments and agrees with the expansion of the shipbuilding capacity of The Union. As such EFL will be contacted and plans drawn up to create a military annex on Briancon Station to begin replacing some of the capacity lost by Fourchambault.

Furthermore, there are more matters that need attention. The status of the Corsairs within Gallia and what level of control the Union should exert over Provence.

Lastly, there are considerations that must be given to the Union's laws, as we currently find ourselves using the Confederacy's obsolete code.

Secretary of Le Maréchal

Félix shakes his head at the mention of the Corsairs, he visibly sighs before he would begin to speak.

Our Union is currently infested by thieves, pirates and other undesirable people of that ilk. I do not believe we should be openly allowing the Corsairs to traverse our borders given who they are. Although I can understand there is some slight potential to discover a powerful relic and whatever secrets may come of it, I do not see how admitting them into the Union's territory is needed in that process.

To the next point, the Confederacy did great harm to the stability of Provence when it took power. Allowing for the rise of a government seeped in the corruption we ought to eradicate wholeheartedly. Yet, that is in the past. Marseille should be returned to the blue jewel of tourism that it was, not a seat of the Minarchy that the Confederacy had it be. I am sure Seignuer Florentin would likely agree to that sentiment.

Lastly I do agree the laws ought to be updated to better emphasize that we are not the Confederacy, and to allow our people in uniform to execute their purpose with expediency. Félix pauses for a moment. Hmm... that might be a policy issue instead.

Franchet d'Esperon stood calmly before the assembly, which had been silent for some time on current affairs, and spoke on the recent introduction of new business after Felix:

Like Felix, I believe that the presence of Corsairs within our borders are also a threat to our internal security, however we should consider promoting their presence in the Tau systems where we have almost no authority today, so I advocate neutrality and cordial trade relations.

For Provence, more than Tourism, this system has strategic access points in Gallia that our enemies take advantage of, especially piracy to operate in our space, we must strengthen our military presence in this system to show our enemies our power and give, as Felix said to our Gallic population of the guarantees that it can travel safely on our trade routes.

Finally for the Gallic laws, I agree that a complete revision must take place taking into account our new political situation and showing that Gallia is not decadent.

After these words, in agreement with the previous intervention of his colleague Felix, he became silent again.
