Launched at the end of November of 799 A.S and commisioned into active service in 800 A.S, the Gunboat Tallahassee was built with a clear purpose in mind: Support against small and medium-sized capital ships and raiding hostile commerce ships.

Almost as soon as it was comissioned, the Divison 9, a branch of the LSF, requested it for its own use with operations in the Omicrons. As the Division was at that time already under Nomad control, the Tallahassee too came under Nomad influence. The early months of the year 800 were quiet, with the Division only working covertly with other Wild forces to subvert Liberty from within.

During the raid on Alaska lead by Trent and Order forces later that year, the Tallahassee was recalled to Alaska and assigned to one of the task forces which would attempt to stop the intruders. The fighting that followed was fierce, however with Walker's sacrifice, The Order managed to break through back to the New York system. Unfortunately, most of the Divison 9 was wiped out in the skirmish and the Tallhassee suffered damage to the engine and weaponry and lost a large part of the hull segments that covered the ship. Witnesses of the fight reported seeing ships using "inhumane weapons" which were not alike anything seen before. The reports were ignored by the Liberty Goverment.

After the raid on Alaska and the catastrophic defeat at the hands of The Order, the Division 9 regrouped its forces and ventured back into the Omicrons. There, at Altair Research Complex, a secret facility, the remnants of the Division's ships went under repairs and refitting. The gunboat and its escorting fighter wing were never seen or heard from again for the following several years. Whilst under refitting, the gunboat was equipped with more efficient Nomad technogy and launched several "test" raids into the nearby systems. The repairs and refitting would end shortly afterwards which meant the Tallahassee could resume its main goal of support Nomad and Wild forces. Now equipped with even stronger technology, it brings terror upon the commerce ships and warships alike, however not many have survived to tell others about its existance.
