Gangplank is a preliminary assault pitting Lancer against vanguard units of the newly commissioned Battleship Delaware. This is expected to be a test of strength against a new battlegroup, as well as a survey of the defense of Pennsylvania for future operations. This operation is expected to take place on July 5th, 827 A.S.
Details
Task Force Lancer has been preparing for this offensive since the uprising. This will not be a direct precision strike, but instead a test of the system's defenses.
Lancer forces supplemented by forces from Harmony and Warhammer will depart Fort Riley following the all clear at 19:00 hours. They will transit the anomaly and prepare with contact forces from Delaware. From there, Lancer forces will proceed to the rendezvous point whereupon strikes against patrols and delayed fighter squadrons will be authorized. Once forces from Delaware are dispatched, Lancer will engage the force upon visual confirmation.
Due to the constraints of fleet combat in systems as desolate as Pennsylvania, retreat in the face of unwelcome odds is a doable possibility. Lancer units are advised to retain the emergency measure until needed.
