I took a break from the game and asked some people to watch after my base which I had recently bought before I left.
I came back to a fully operational base after several months. I cannot begin to describe the thankfulness I have to those who spent their time making sure it was kept up. I appreciate every one of you, I may not know who you are, but if you ever need anything, just let me know and I'll be there.
I thought this game was ending. . . now I see it is personal to so many of us.
I never got the chance to really meet or know you before you left. But after meeting in voice chat for the first time the other night, it would have been better if we met sooner. I did not help with the maintenance of your base, but if you need any supplies ran, please let me know.
There is something to this game, like a heart or a spirit that keeps drawing people back. It's why when people leave, people comment "Acknowledged Freeport 7, see you in about 2 weeks". This game was a first for many people, including me. The first time flying in space in a metal tube, exploring, destroying the bad guy aliens, trading across star systems. It's what I like to think motivates whoever upkeeps and operates this community to keep it up and running.
There are problems with this community, for sure. Just focus on the people around you that make it fun with you, everything else is just a passing blur.
