I've been doing some of my own research for the past ten months, so I'd like you to have a look. It's concerning the dark matter and theory I am currently producing.
This is my pet project, and if I get somewhere with it - I might try to officialize it and start working on the implementation of said theory - could possibly there would be a need for resource allocation. Yes, I was hiding some secrets behind your back. No, I don't have any other pet projects other than this one - I was trying to get into genetic modifications and extensive augmentations but turned out particle physics is still my passion and I am not that interested in human biology.
I'll simmer it down for you. Basically, the theory is that dark matter is more fluid in nature than just 'particle field' - and that large masses of said dark matter influence how the hyperspace travel works, and said masses get influenced by how we operate the hyperspace corridors. If this is confirmed - we can either weaponize it or devise more practical use - like energy generation or more efficient sublight travel.

Pray tell the other surviving progenitors, those other Architects, do not take heed of this, lest you want the wrath of the machine to come for you. I'm not the one you need to fear, no, but rather the rest of our kin. Remember that the Ascension flows through all of us, enlightened by the touch of that artifact. Your discoveries are undoubtedly going to assist the Technocracy's motions forward. Do you perhaps recall the purpose of the Orion's deployment? The investment into hypercharged dark matter studies? While we are enlightened to the knowledge of Gammu and their methods of using background dark matter as a means for propulsion, perhaps we can evolve their designs further. Although, note, it may be prudent that the Directorate assimilate Gammu into the fold, deprecation and deviancy is becoming rampant on the old world.
Now. You may have noticed the Dossier regarding the Final Journey. Those Sentinels - have been noted utilizing the anomalous formations within said Dark Matter storm. There is some speculation running from your Division that these Sentinels have adapted to utilize the energy potential from the storm. Yet, more studies will need to be conducted with such. My Cohort is interested in developing means to neuter the Sentinel's offensive capabilities, or to at least negate majority of the threat from them.
However. The Directorate's priorities are the same; investment into Dark Matter, and unlocking the Progenitor artifact. And the inevitable push for Malekula.
Perhaps you could help me on my project, as it seems to be intertwining on a familiar topic. Do you find that investing into shields is tenable?
