┝┅{Subject: Military Salvage Permit Inquiry

Respected leaders of the Gallic Union,

In light of our recent convoy to Ile-de-France, confusion has arised regarding the existence of a Military Salvage carrying permit for Corsairs in Gallic space. Or a lack, thereof. It would appear we're receiving conflicting information regarding what the Corsair Empire is legally allowed to haul within Gallic Borders, and we're not interested in causing any problems.

To get to the point: While reviewing the records on the public Cargo Permits stored on Neural Net, we only see Corsairs mentioned once under the Artifacts category. However, one of your Navy pilots by the name of "Gaston Corbeil" checked the records on his side during our recent visit to your - very beautiful, from what I've been told - House. He claimed that our Empire has received the permit for the Military Salvage as well - approved on January 24, 744 year of Gallic calendar after an inquiry from "Black Flag Corsairs".
I'm attaching audio logs from the Megisti Anesi for reference:

Code:
[30.12.2021 21:51:14] \*/~Gaston.Corbeil.: As far as I recall all Corsairs have Military Salvage license thanks to either Iberian or Black Flag Corsairs' effort.
[30.12.2021 21:51:29] UC/-Tahtiherra: Bonju
[30.12.2021 21:51:33] DTR-CNS>Minertaur: Hola!
[30.12.2021 21:51:38] DTR-Filibuster: Hola.
[30.12.2021 21:51:43] \*/~Gaston.Corbeil.: And I think Lunel may have some Military Salvage aboard.
[30.12.2021 21:51:52] Abellio: Then we shall head there.
[30.12.2021 21:51:57] DTR-Ephemeral: M: No we don't.  No clearance for salvage.
[30.12.2021 21:51:57] \*/~Gaston.Corbeil.: Please, give me a minute to access the database to confirm their license.
[30.12.2021 21:51:59] DTR-CCS>Megisti.Anesi: Corella: Actually, we got a memo from the High Commander that we do not have clearende for Military Salvage
[30.12.2021 21:52:01] Abellio: Corsairs, do you agree with the proposal?
[30.12.2021 21:52:18] DTR-Nox.: Let's wait for Senor Corbeil to check.
[30.12.2021 21:52:32] \*/~Gaston.Corbeil.: Yes, they do have clearance, approved January 24, 744.
[30.12.2021 21:52:33] DTR-CCS>Megisti.Anesi: Corella: Well, we don't want to break any laws
[30.12.2021 21:52:40] Abellio: Capitaine Gaston, the newly-appeared vessel, callsign Nymph, displays a Nomad signature.
[30.12.2021 21:52:45] Abellio: I suggest we take action.
[30.12.2021 21:52:45] \*/~Gaston.Corbeil.: From... yeah, Black Flag Corsairs, applied to entire Folk of Crete.

We've contacted our brethren to confirm on their side of the story, and actually managed to get in touch with Lucia Jaquez, who was the one sending out the request, to which she confirmed having been denied in her request, audio logs attached once more.

Code:
[31.12.2021 15:05:31] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: Ola.
[31.12.2021 15:05:50] DTR-Nox.: Hola, Senorita Jaquez, many thanks for coming here on such a short notice.
[31.12.2021 15:06:02] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: No worries, I was nearby anyways.
[31.12.2021 15:06:41] DTR-Nox.: So let me just get straight to the point, the other day we ran a trade convoy into Gallia, and an officer there claimed-
[31.12.2021 15:07:11] DTR-Nox.: -that all Corsair vessels are allowed to bring otherwise restricted cargo of Artifacts and Military Salvage,-
[31.12.2021 15:07:39] DTR-Nox.: -citing your request sent out earlier this year.
[31.12.2021 15:07:55] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: That is new to me. My request was denied.
[31.12.2021 15:08:06] DTR-Nox.: That's what our records imply as well.
[31.12.2021 15:08:22] DTR-Nox.: You were denied on both of the two commodities, or just one? Just to be absolutely clear.
[31.12.2021 15:08:35] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: On both.
[31.12.2021 15:08:43] DTR-Nox.: *scribbling notes*
[31.12.2021 15:09:05] DTR-Nox.: Alright, then I guess we'll have to call them up to ensure we don't run into any trouble in the future.
[31.12.2021 15:09:10] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: In response, we cut all ties with the Gallic Union. Means there have not been Gallic ships importing our Artifacts either.
[31.12.2021 15:09:26] DTR-Nox.: Oh, I haven't heard about that.
[31.12.2021 15:09:44] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: I don't know why they would now think anything has changed. They did not bother to reach out to us ever again.
[31.12.2021 15:09:48] DTR-Nox.: They seemed rather friendly, all things considered during our latest visit.
[31.12.2021 15:10:19] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: Perhaps they have a shortage of Artifacts now, and became desperate?
[31.12.2021 15:10:52] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: That still does not explain why they would lie to you, though.
[31.12.2021 15:10:57] DTR-Nox.: Our records imply there was a second transmission sent out quite a bit later by Iberian Empire.
[31.12.2021 15:11:21] DTR-Nox.: Which would explain the Artifact permit, but Military permit definitely was never mentioned in that one.
[31.12.2021 15:11:30] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: Oh really? I must have missed it, I don't take those losers serious.
[31.12.2021 15:11:31] DTR-Nox.: Most peculiar, I have to say.
[31.12.2021 15:12:02] DTR-Nox.: Well, I won't comment on any rivalries between you and Iberians
[31.12.2021 15:12:16] DTR-Nox.: In any case
[31.12.2021 15:12:21] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: Our request was made not only for us, it was primarily the interest of The Brotherhood. But they were denied aswell.
[31.12.2021 15:12:32] DTR-Nox.: many thanks for all the information you provided!
[31.12.2021 15:12:41] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: You're welcome.
[31.12.2021 15:12:55] DTR-Nox.: Until next time!
[31.12.2021 15:12:59] BFC|Lucia:Jaquez: Take care.

After further studies of our communication archives, we found that the Artifact permit was requested and granted after an inquiry of Alfonso Sagarra of Iberian Empire on... let me just convert the date... April 21st of year 744 of Gallic calendar. However, that request contained no mention of Military Salvage.

Could you please clarify whether or not we have the permit already? If we don't, we'd like to properly apply for one using the appropriate channel. Acquiring more Military Salvage will be crucial for our future construction operations, and we can guarantee a stable influx of freshly harvested Xeno Relics directly to Paris in return.

In the name of Executor Nagash,
High Commander Eros Galanis

Subject: RE: Military Salvage Permit Inquiry

Esteemed Monsieur Galanis,

My name Antoinette Martin, I'm the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gallic Union.

It seems that Capitaine Corbeil made a mistake in assuring you that Corsairs has a Military Salvage shipping license. Disciplinary action will be taken against this officer, for such an oversight might have involved something more dangerous than pieces of metal and charred equipment from long-dead ships. Nevertheless, what was done could not be changed.

The form attached to this message must be completed if you wish to request a Military Salvage transportation license. We recommend that you fill it out as required and send it to our Licensing & Permittance Office, requesting permission for your organization, or for Corsairs in its entirety, after which the license will be reviewed and answered within three days by New Paris.
