¬ Planetary Analysis
Region: Tanner Belt
Sytem: Hudson
Terrain: Arctic
Diameter: 13,100 km
Mass: 6.72 x 10e24 kg
Temperature: -50°C to -10°C
Population: Very Sparse

¬ Overview

The frozen planet of Atka is targeted to be terraformed by the Liberty government in an attempt to relocate manufacturing and economic undesirables to the Independent Worlds. A small Planetform team is on the surface to construct the ground equipment required for the initiation of stage one terraforming. Planetform believes that by releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, the temperature on Atka will rise roughly 30 degrees, causing most of the surface to thaw. Projections suggest it will be an oceanic world when this is completed, with only 15 percent of its surface above sea level. The terraforming effort is expected to take roughly a century.

Ownership of Planet Atka and the Hudson System as a whole has been contested by both Liberty and Rheinland. This boiled over into a border war in 817 AS which ravaged Hudson and the nearby systems. The war concluded in 823 AS with Liberty taking claim of Atka. In addition to the war, the system and region is plagued by criminal activity, keeping attempts of naval control difficult and trade is often disrupted.

¬ Ecological State

A sizable arctic world with little knowledge of prospected resources. Stage one of terraforming is underway, surface teams mounting the needed infrastructure to pump the planet with greenhouse gases. Intention is mass melting of the large amounts of ice available on the planet, putting into question the environmental damage such can cause.

• Stage One Terraforming
• Arctic World

¬ Recommended Action

Work with local belligerents to disrupt Planetform's progress or halt it entirely.

Environmental Status: Stable

¬ Nebula Analysis
Regions: Western Omegas, Independent Worlds, Bretonia, Tau Cluster

Planets: 15+
Habitable: 9+
Utilities: Tradelanes, Jumpgates, Industrial Stations, Mining Operations
Resources: Ice, Oxygen, Metals, Planets, Jumpholes, Alien Organisms
Population: Scattered Population

¬ Overview

The Barrier is a large, white-blue nebula in the western portion of the Sirius Sector. It reaches from the Tau Cluster to the Western Omegas. Densely filled with most of Sirius's ice crystals and water, the Barrier served as a natural barrier between Liberty and Bretonia and delayed the two from finding each other.

Due to its length and density, the Barrier acts much like a terrestrial mountain range in terms of passage through or settling within. While house governments settled nearby the Barrier, criminal elements often use the cover of the nebula to mask their installations and movements, or to strike at convoys from.

¬ Ecological State

As a massive nebula of dense ice, there is little concern over any impact upon the Barrier. Any ice mining is negligible. Industrialization and pollutants have not reached or affected the Barrier.

• Ice Nebula
• Minute Industrialization
• Minute Debris
• Habitable Worlds
• Corporate Interest

¬ Recommended Action

Use of Barrier for raids or convoys.

¬ Overview

The Barrier is a sizable red and blue nebula in the far western portion of the Sirius Sector. Its reach touches the fringe Bretonian system of Dublin and upwards to Orkney. Due to its separation from The Barrier, cartographers have argued the major systems within this nebula should be recategorized, calling it Lambda.

The Hebrides Nebula is prominent in the skies of Bretonia, its deep red caused by a mixture of ice and rock coloured by brown dwarfs and yellow stars. The blue, much like the Barrier, comes from blue stars and ice. The Green Jewel, Planet Gaia, resides within.

The majority of the nebula remains uncharted, with Dublin, Poole, Edinburgh, Roussillon, and Orkney being the most explored. Gallia has had mixed control over Roussillon and Orkney, while Bretonia struggles over ownership of Dublin and Poole. Criminals are active throughout the region and beyond attempts at forcing control by the house governments, mostly remains lawless space. Most attempts by the previous Royalist Gallia to control the region came through the use of mines or military presence.

¬ Ecological State

A large nebula of ice and rock. Heavy industrialization and mining within the Dublin system. Overall left untouched.

[+]AUTHORIZED ACCESS ONLY
Massive xenological activity within the Orkney system. Source of movement originated in the Omicrons and moved through the Tau Cluster into Orkney. Xeno-forms identified as "Nomads". See 'Orkney' entry for further details. Extreme caution is advised.

¬ System Analysis
Region: Herbrides Cluster
Status: Restricted
Planets: 4
Habitable: 0
Utilities: Tradelanes, Jumpgates, Industrial Stations
Resources: Cobalt, Beryllium
Population: None

¬ Overview

Orkney (Gallic: Brittany) is a system within the Hebrides nebula and arguably a part of the Lambda Cluster. The system was largely ignored until a massive minefield cropped up by an unknown source, found later to have been Royalist Gallia. History states the minefield was breached by Council forces as they retreated from Languedoc. Orkney fell under Gallic control shortly after and remained as such even after the war ended. The system acts as a thoroughfare linking the Taus to Gallia.

=DATA RESTRICTED=
[+]AUTHORIZED ACCESS ONLY
Massive xenological activity within the Orkney system. Source of movement originated in the Omicrons and traveled through the Tau Cluster into Orkney. Xeno-forms identified as "Nomads". System locked down from Bretonian and Gallic governments to contain the threat. Xeno-forms are highly aggressive. Large amounts of infrastructural damage has been confirmed to stations, tradelanes, and installations. The infamous Issoudun is completely destroyed. Gallic forces have withdrawn from the system. Order agents have deployed in the system.

Extreme caution is required. Containment procedures required. System is locked down. Cooperation with Armed Forces and local organizations advised.

¬ Ecological State

A generally untouched system save for mining operations by IMG and EFL. Leftover Mines litter the Westray Asteroid Field.

¬ Recommended Action

Lockdown system.
