The Miyasu Zaibatsu - 見やす 財閥
"We are not here to shape Kusari or to earn the most money. All we aim for is to help the people of Kusari."
- Miyasu Sanae (825 A.S.)

Quick facts

Founder: Miyasu Hanako
Foundation date: 361 A.S.
Current Chairwoman: Miyasu Iriel
Chief Executive Officers: Miyasu Sanae, Higuchi Noboru, Rayne Krenton

Miyasu-Kōkan

The Miyasu-Kōkan has been the primary space-faring enterprise of the Miyasu Family, providing a steady source of revenue since 361 A.S. Although the majority of goods transportation is handled by numerous subsidiaries of the Keiretsu, direct exchanges between Samura and Kishiro keiretsu have always been complex and delicate. This is where the Miyasu-Kōkan positions itself as a third-party facilitator, organizing direct exchanges of raw materials and end products between the two Keiretsu for relatively low fees. However, the demand for such third-party trade has significantly declined in the past six years due to increased cooperation mandated by the Imperial decree. To counter this downward trend, Miyasu Iriel decided to invest in planetside storage facilities for rent to smaller companies and urgently sought closer alignment with one of the two major Keiretsu.

After lengthy and unsuccessful negotiations with Samura Industries, which were hesitant to grant the desired level of autonomy as a subsidiary, Miyasu Iriel managed to strike a similar deal with Kishiro Technologies in 830 A.S. While this decision temporarily damaged the company's reputation with Samura, the additional contracts involving foreign entities are expected to outweigh the risks.

Although the new arrangements promise additional business opportunities, the merchant fleet of Miyasu-Kōkan remains significantly smaller compared to the vast Keiretsu. As a result, large vessels are rarely deployed. Furthermore, the few merchant vessels in their possession exhibit an interesting emphasis on offensive and defensive capabilities rather than maximizing efficiency.

[Story received an addition in preparation to new developments of character story]
A very brief story teaser on Kishiro alignment and certain implications you may read into offensive/defensive focus.
