The Imperial Guard is commanded by the Shogun who also acts in an advisory capacity to the Emperor in the matters of war but does not have any role in the command of the IAF outside the Imperial Guard.".

Peace time tasks

During peace times, the Imperial Guard provides personal security for the Emperor, Crown Prince and other members of the Imperial Family, as well as protection of imperial properties. They are assigned to a permanent state of combat readiness, yet are not engaging into daily peacekeeping duties akin to the Naval Forces.

War time tasks

During war times, the Imperial Guard enters a state of heightened alertness. Preparations for an eventual evacuation of the Imperial Family as well as the Prime Minister and the heads of the Samura and Kishiro Family will be undertaken the moment a state of war was declared. The state of war also grants the members of the Imperial Guard "the right to strike", enabling the swift and extrajudicial arrest or killing of all deemed a risk to the Imperial Family, the Prime Minister or the Keiretsu heads.

The fall of the Empire

Should all efforts at deterring the enemy fail and the complete defeat of the Kusari Empire is foreseeable, the Imperial Guard will initiate Tokubetsu Kōgekitai protocols. The Imperial Guard, as last line of defense will attempt to crush the enemy in a honorable last stand. A token force will initiate Engetsu to safeguard the Imperial Family, the Prime Minister and the Keiretsu Family heads. The token force, alongside any vessel capable of fleeing, will assemble at [REDACTED] and prepare to travel to "Nagoya" or "Hiroshima" depending on the circumstances. Upon arrival, emergency protocol "Yatagarasu"; the reconstruction of the Empire will commence.. for that the Emperor's fangs shall reach those defiling Kusari soil once again.
